5/29 Location: 2001 Maple Rd. SS Cyril Methodius Cemetery
Summary: Around 1am deputies were dispatched to this address regarding a single vehicle accident. Upon arrival they observed a pick-up truck about 50ft. off the roadway in the cemetery property. Approximately 30ft. of chain link fencing surrounding the cemetery was damaged and laying on the ground. The driver of the pickup, a 35 year old male, stated that while traveling westbound on Maple Road he saw a vehicle with no headlights on traveling eastbound in his lane. The driver swerved to avoid the head-on collision and lost control on the wet pavement causing him to spin out of control, go down an embankment, crash through the fence, and travel backwards until striking three tombstones before coming to a stop. Deputies observed three tombstones underneath the pickup truck and pushed back about 10ft. from their original position. The driver was not injured.

Summary: Terrance Glasper, age 42, of 2446 E. 72nd Street in Chicago was arrested for DUI, no proof of insurance, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol, and improper use of turn signal.

Summary: Person/s unknown entered a detached garage and stole an ATV.

Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a residence by pushing a window air conditioning unit inward. A 37” TV was stolen.
5/30 Location: E. Cass and Highland Park Drive
Summary: Isaiah Burns, age 23, of 1219 Cherry Hill Rd. in Joliet, was cited for driving while license suspended.
Location: 1000 block of Ridgewood Avenue
Summary: Deputies responded at 3:15am to a call regarding shots fired. Victim stated that she was awaken by 6 or 7 popping sounds and then heard glass cracking. Deputies observed several cracks in the windows of the residence. No one was injured.

Summary: Charles A. Lester, age 41, of 2055 Hendrie in Canton, MI was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
6/1 Location: N. Larkin Avenue and Theodore
Summary: Jeffrey Zagar, age 27, of 408 Cornelia in Joliet was arrested for DUI and speeding.

Summary: Person/s unknown smashed the windshield of a truck with a large chunk of concrete.

Summary: Victim stated while traveling north on Walnut person/s unknown threw a large rock at her vehicle causing damage to the front bumper and headlight.

Summary: Salvador Ramirez-Delgado, age 21, of 463 Herkimer in Joliet was arrested for DUI, no valid driver’s license, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and no seat belts.

Summary: Person/s unknown broke out the passenger window of a rental truck.
Location: 400 block of Champlain
Summary: Two adult individuals stated to deputies that at 6:30pm, while at Singleton Park with a mutual friend, they were approached by three male blacks who robbed them of a wallet, four cell phones, a purse, a set of keys, and a pair of gym shoes. One of the subjects displayed a hand gun and told the victims to give them everything or he would shoot the female victim. No one was hurt.

Summary: Gina Pashos, age 20, of 12101 W. Longmeadow Lane in Homer Glen was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and Dorothy L. Johnson, age 84, of 8996 Archer Avenue in Willow Springs was cited for failure to yield turning left.

Summary: Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole two stereo speakers, an equalizer, a sound board, a sound mixer, and two stereo receivers.

Summary: Zygmont Szeliga, age 55, of 13044 W. Buttercup Court in Homer Glen was arrested for disregarding a stop sign, driving while license revoked, fleeing/attempt to elude peace officer, and reckless driving.

Summary: Matthew J. Metelak, age 22, of 12060 W. Graceland Court in Homer Glen was cited for failure to yield turning left.

Summary: Person/s unknown stole a gas grill from the backyard of a residence.

Summary: Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole two GPS units.
NEW LENOX AND FRANKFORT
5/30 Location: 7300 block of W. Lakeside Drive Frankfort
Summary: Person/s unknown scratched the side door of a vehicle with an unknown object.
Location: 100 block of Michael Lane New Lenox
Summary: Three residents were burglarized by person/s unknown. One of the residents had their vehicle stolen, a second resident had a DVD player stolen from their vehicle and a third resident had a hard hat and a Walsh Construction vest stolen from their vehicle. (Sheriff’s deputies later arrested Patrick McCleary for the thefts and additional charges.) (See above Joliet report – Cass and Oakdale streets.) The vehicle, construction wear, and the DVD player were returned to their owners.

SOUTH TOWNSHIPS
5/29 Location: 23000 block of S. Rt. 53 Jackson
Summary: At 5pm an elderly female was sitting outside her residence when she observed a white conversion van with no markings pull into her driveway with 2 (possibly Hispanic) individuals inside. According to the victim she believed the van to be similar to the type of van that was owned by a paving company who had conducted asphalt work on her driveway and was expected to finish the job sometime in the near future. The victim stated that the first subject approached her and advised that he was there to finish her black top and needed to store some supplies in her backyard. The victim then led the subject to the backyard. When the victim returned to her house she observed the second subject standing in her kitchen. After a brief conversation the second subject advised her that she overpaid them $40 and produced a $100 bill and asked for $60 in change. The victim stated that she did not have any cash in the house. The second subject then engaged the victim in a conversation regarding her wedding ring and advised her that it needed to be cleaned. He assisted her in removing the ring, placing it in a bowl, filled it with water and dish soap, and placed it in the cabinet, advising her to leave it soak. A short time after the subjects left the victim went to retrieve her ring and it was gone. Value of ring estimated at $8000.

Summary: Jenifer Jorgenson, age 28, of 1132 W. County Line Road in Beecher was arrested for reckless driving, improper passing, and speeding.

5/31 Location: 31000 block of S. Warner Bridge Rd. Wilmington
Summary: Person/s unknown kicked in a rear door of a residence. Stolen was about $400 in change and jewelry.
6/1 Location: 32000 block of S. Old Chicago Rd. Wilmington
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole fine jewelry.
Location: 500 block of E. Mesa Drive Reed
Summary: Between 5/18 and 6/1 person/s unknown stole scrap metal and eight steel mortar forms from a trailer.
Location: 34000 block of S. Danielson Rd. Wilmington
Summary: Person/s unknown entered onto a farm property and removed two orange carriage wagons from a corn crib. The wagons were described as about 12’ long with 250 blue DMI running gears. Estimated value each is $1000.
6/2 Location: 3195 E. Division Shell Gas Diamond
Summary: person/s unknown pumped $26.25 worth of gas into a vehicle and drove off without paying.
6/3 Location: 400 block of Trout Wilmington
Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a shed and stole a gas power washer, a standing fan, and miscellaneous hand tools.
LOCKPORT
5/30 Location: 15000 block of S. Muir Drive
Summary: Person/s unknown smashed the front windshield of a vehicle with a large rock.
6/1 Location: 100 block of Riverview Avenue
Summary: A 23 year old male employee of Aurelio’s Pizza in Lockport stated that at about 10:30pm he arrived at a residence to deliver two large pizzas and an order of hot wings. Upon exiting his vehicle he was approached by two male black subjects, one carrying an AK-47 rifle and the other carrying a handgun. The subjects took the food, ordered him to the ground and stole his wallet. The subjects then asked the victim for his keys and when the victim refused the offenders took off on foot. Under investigation.
