HOMER GLEN

 

5/21     Location:  16000 block of s. Deer Path Drive

            Summary:   Person/s unknown slashed nine various tires on four vehicles.

 

5/22     Location:  13000 block of W. Ironwood Circle

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke the tail light of a vehicle while it was parked in a driveway.

 

5/23     Location:  12622 W. 159th St.             Cool River Bar

            Summary:  Victim stated that while at the bar she lost her set of car keys.  She got a ride home at 11:30pm and upon returning discovered that her vehicle was gone.  The vehicle was later discovered in the parking lot of Bonfire restaurant, down the street.  Offender/s had stole $30 and a digital camera.

 

5/25     Location:  W. 143rd and W. Little Creek Drive

            Summary:  Roberto O. Rivera Jr., age 20 of 13245 W. Woodland Drive in Homer Glen was arrested for speeding, possession of cannabis under 10 grams, and possession of drug equipment.

 

5/26     Location:  14162 S. Bell Road                       Tobacco Express

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into the business and stole about 69 cartons of Newport cigarettes, and 7 cartons of Maverick cigarettes.  A complete inventory would be taken to determine exactly what was missing from the store.  Video surveillance was being reviewed.

 

5/27     Location:  14903 S. Founders Crossing          Mullet’s Sports Bar

            Summary:  Sam Westferro, age 24, of 13069 Bluegrass Drive in Lemont was cited for disorderly conduct.

 

FRANKFORT AND NEW LENOX

 

5/23     Location:  13204 W. Maple Rd.           Groundskeeper Landscaping                        Mokena

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a storage shed and stole chainsaws, tools, and rope.

 

            Location:  8300 block of W. Brickstone Drive                       Frankfort

            Summary:  Frankfort Fire Department was on the scene extinguishing a fire at a residence that was fully engulfed.  Homeowner stated that about 11:23pm he heard a loud glass breaking sound and when he looked outside in his backyard he noticed that his deck was on fire.  He immediately got his family out safely.  A next door neighbor also observed the flames and once realizing that his neighbor and family were out safely, returned home and removed his family because of the fire spreading to his home.  Both fires were extinguished with no injuries.  The state fire marshal was notified and is investigating.

 

5/24     Location:  7400 block of James                      Frankfort

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an attached garage and stole a bag of baseball equipment.

 

5/25     Location:  21457 S. Spencer Rd.     AT&T Cell Tower                      New Lenox

            Summary:   Employee stated person/s unknown removed two copper buss bars from the cell tower building.

 

 

5/26     Location:  S. Harlem and W. North                Frankfort

            Summary:  Jose Rogel, age 36, of 2439 Fillmore Avenue in Chicago was cited for no valid driver’s license and speeding.

 

            Location:  8300 block of W. Hill Avenue                  Frankfort

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole $13,000 worth of power tools.

 

5/28     Location:  20000 block of S. 78th Avenue                  Frankfort

            Summary:  Frankfort Fire Department extinguished a fully engulfed fire at an abandoned farm house.  State Fire Marshal arrived on scene to handle the investigation.

 

            Location:  17000 block of S. Haas Rd.          Mokena

            Summary:  Lance Hosman, age 19, of 220 Elm in Frankfort was cited for too fast for conditions and using an electronic device to read an electronic message (texting).  Hosman lost control of his vehicle, entered a ditch, flipped the vehicle and struck a utility pole.  He was taken to Silver Cross Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

 

JOLIET

 

5/21     Location:  S. Chicago and Redbud Drive

            Summary:  Aleshia Brooks, age 28, of 826 Rosalind in Joliet was cited for improper lane usage, no seat belts, and driving while license revoked.

 

5/23     Location:  100 block of Minton

            Summary:  Person/s unknown forced entry into a detached garage.  Nothing appeared to be missing however an NY baseball hat, along with two key rings were found and did not belong to the homeowner.  Deputies were in a foot pursuit earlier in the evening with an individual in this area.  Under investigation.

 

5/24     Location:  607 Algonquin                   Mac’s Tap

            Summary:  Victim stated that she went to her vehicle at about midnight and observed the front and rear passenger side windows had been shattered.

 

5/25     Location:  S. Joliet and Patterson Rd.

            Summary:  Arturo Mendoza-Perez, age 27, of 1425 Dickens in Joliet was arrested for DUI, speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  New Lenox Rd. and Oakview

            Summary:  Matthew Riley, age 34, of 701 Oakview in Joliet was cited for operating a non-highway vehicle on the roadway after he crashed his motorcycle.  Riley was taken to Provena Medical Center with body road rash and a broken leg.

 

5/26     Location:  S. Briggs and E. Washington

            Summary:  Ismael Vital, age 29, of 930 N. Prairie Avenue in Joliet was arrested for DUI, no valid driver’s license, disobeying a traffic control device, and improper turn at intersection.  Willy Guerra, age 26, of 905 N. Royce Avenue in Joliet was cited for illegal transportation of alcohol.

 

            Location:  1000 block of E. Clinton

            Summary:  Between 5/19 and 5/26, person/s unknown entered a house under construction and stole copper water pipes, 10 vent covers, sheet metal ducts, and copper electrical wires.

 

 

 

            Location:  S. Briggs and E. Washington

            Summary:  Willie Edward Trotter, age 51, of 12130 S. Lowe in Chicago was cited for illegal transportation of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while license suspended/revoked, and speeding.  Trotter was held on an active in-state warrant.

 

5/27     Location:  Briggs and Rosalind                                 

            Summary:  Deputies responded to a disturbance call at a rodeo.  Upon arrival approximately 30 subjects were arguing.  Event security was on scene attempting to separate the group.  A male Hispanic victim stated that he was punched in the face and then a fight broke out.  Lockport EMS arrived but all involved refused medical treatment.

 

5/28     Location:  S. Briggs and E. Washington

            Summary:  Mario Martinez, age 27, of 113 S. Midland Avenue in Joliet was cited for illegal transportation of alcohol, speeding, and driving while license suspended.   Irving Martinez, age 22, of 113 S. Midland in Joliet was also cited for illegal transportation of alcohol. 

 

            Location:  S. Briggs and E. Washington

            Summary:  Anselmo Morales-Pena, age 52, of 812 E. 1st Avenue in Joliet was cited for driving while license revoked, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and leaving the scene of an accident and was held on a FTA warrant out of DuPage County.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

5/21     Location:  11746 S. Naperville Plainfield Rd.                        Boughton Materials

            Summary:  Person/s unknown forced entry into a machine shop and approximately 350’ of copper welding wire.  Offender/s also took 2 antique Radio Flyer toy wagons.  The wagons were used to move heavy wires around the shop.

 

5/24     Location:  15000 block of S. Michael Drive               Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a GPS unit, a stereo face plate, and two packs of cigarettes.

 

            Location:  15000 block of S. Michael Drive               Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a ‘hands free’ device.

 

            Location:  21000 block of W. Helen Drive                Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a vehicle and stole a GPS unit and a flashlight was found.

 

            Location:  Caton Farm and Rt. 59                  Plainfield

            Summary:  Nubia Rodriguez, age 32, of 1720 Sierra Trail in Romeoville was cited for no valid driver’s license.

 

            Location:  15000 block of S. Thomas Court               Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered two unlocked vehicles and stole a “Tootsie Roll” bank containing about $10 from one vehicle.  Offender/s also stole a 26” mountain bike from the driveway.

 

            Location:  15000 block of S. Francis Drive                Plainfield

            Summary:  Homeowner stated that he discovered a 26” mountain bike in the roadway.  Deputies identified the bike as stolen from S. Thomas Court.  The homeowner positively identified the flashlight found on W. Helen Drive as his and stated that it had been stolen from his unlocked motor home.

 

 

5/27     Location:  W. 119th and S. Wolf Drive                       Plainfield

            Summary:  Lamont Williams, age 27, of 606 Preston Drive in Bolingbrook was cited for no valid driver’s license and failure to dim headlights.

 

5/28     Location:  Grand and N. Weber Rd.              Plainfield

            Summary:  Virginia Angulo, age 43, of 238 Williamsburg Court in Romeoville was cited for no valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

            Location:  S. Kay Drive and W. Mary Lane               Plainfield

            Summary:  John A. Young, age 18, of 2013 Torwood Circle in Plainfield was arrested for possession of drug equipment.  Anthony G. Scalzitti, age 18, of 2202 Red Hawk Drive in Plainfield was arrested for possession of drug equipment.  Jeremiah Kancauski, age 18, of 2009 Gray Hawk Court in Plainfield was arrested for possession of drug equipment and possession of cannabis under 30 grams and Santino Colunga, age 18, of 2208 Park Ridge Drive in Plainfield was arrested for resisting a police officer.

 

EAST TOWNSHIPS

 

5/21     Location:  25000 block of S. Nacke Road                 Crete

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole two air conditioning units from a residence.

 

5/22     Location:  S. Dixie Highway and W. Elms Court Lane                     Crete

            Summary:  Michael Brooke, age 18, of 209 Susan Lane in Steger was arrested for driving while license suspended, disobeying a stop sign and possession of drug equipment.

 

            Location:  900 block of E. Richton Rd.                     Crete

            Summary:  An elderly couple reported to deputies that at about 2:30pm, while the wife was in the front yard, a white newer model Ford pick-up truck occupied by 2 male whites pulled into the driveway.  One of the subjects, about 55 yrs. old, stated that he bought the property across the street and introduced himself as Ed Albert.  The subject then asked to see her back yard and the wife accompanied him there.  After about 10 minutes the subject stated that he needed to leave.  The subjects then left in the pick-up truck.  The husband stated to deputies that while his wife went to the backyard he was sitting in the living room when the driver of the pick-up truck walked through the front door.  The subject looked shocked, stated that they worked for the church down the street with landscaping, and returned to the truck.  Victims believe the subject’s were there to commit a burglary. 

 

5/23     Location:  25000 block of S. Sangamon                     Crete

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke windows out of two vehicles and knocked down a mailbox.

 

            Location:  2800 block of E. Spruce Drive                  Crete

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a pole barn and stole a generator and an ATV vehicle.

 

            Location:  753 W. Old Monee Rd.                 Bruns Septic                Crete

            Summary:  Between 4/22/12 and 5/22/12, person/s unknown came onto the business property and removed a frost tooth bucket, water main fittings, a man way cover, and a generator.

 

            Location:  25000 block of S. Nacke Rd.                    Crete

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked detached garage and removed a riding mower and a metal lawn cart that was attached to the mower.

 

            Location:  24648 S. Walnut                Crete

            Summary:  James Bailey, of this address, was arrested for assault after a domestic situation.

 

 

5/26     Location:  S. Kings Rd. and W. Steger Rd.               Steger

            Summary:  Nikki Thigpen, age 28, of 16522 Union in Harvey was arrested for possession of cannabis under 30 grams, driving while license revoked, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

            Location:  3400 block of W. Oak Hill Drive              Crete

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a residence.  It was unclear at time of report whether anything was stolen.

 

5/27     Location:  2600 block of W. Eagle Lake Road                      Beecher

            Summary:  A homeowner stated that at about 12:30am, she heard an unknown subject inside her residence.   When she woke up she observed a male subject shining a flashlight in her eyes.  The subject then stated not to worry, that he was a police officer and everything was okay.  The homeowner stated that she believed a second subject was also in the house.  The homeowner called police who arrived and searched the home.  No one was found inside and the homeowner believed nothing was missing. 

 

SOUTH TOWNSHIPS

 

5/21     Location:  3195 E. Division                Diamond Shell           

            Summary:  Person/s unknown pumped $55 worth of gas into their vehicle and left without paying.

 

5/22     Location:  S. Cedar Rd. and W. Delaney Rd.                        Manhattan

            Summary:  Patrocinlo Ruiz, age 35, of 503 Garnsey in Joliet was cited for no valid driver’s license and speeding.

 

5/24     Location:  3002 E. Division                Chrome Rack Bar                   Reed

            Summary:  Lawrence Haisler, Jr., age 54, of 2354 Cherry Tree Lane in Diamond was arrested for DUI and improper lane usage.

 

5/26     Location:  23000 block of S. Malibu Drive                Manhattan

            Summary:  Person/s unknown cut the liner of a pool several times with an unknown object.

 

            Location:  20785 W. Rt. 102              Wilmington                 United Methodist Church

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole an external air conditioner unit that was connected to the church.

 

            Location:  3195 E. Division                Diamond Shell

            Summary:  Person/s unknown pumped $21 worth of gas into their vehicle and left without paying.

 

5/27     Location:  700 block of E. Elmo Ct.               Godley

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered four unlocked vehicles and stole prescription medication from one of them. 

 

            Location:  400 block of E. Mary Lane                        Godley

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole two bikes and a scooter from the driveway of a residence.

 

            Location:  700 block of E. Elmo Ct.               Godley

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle.  Nothing was taken.

 

            Location:  3195 E. Division                Diamond Shell

            Summary:  Person/s unknown pumped $52.16 worth of gas into their vehicle and left without paying.

 

 

5/28     Location:  3195 E. Division                Diamond Shell

            Summary:  Person/s unknown pumped $60 worth of gas into their vehicle and left without paying.

 

LOCKPORT

 

5/22     Location:  400 block of Dellwood Avenue

            Summary:  Jeremy Autman, age 18, of 319 Nobes Avenue in Lockport was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest, possession of a firearm, and no valid FOID card.

 

5/23     Location:  S. Briggs and Bruce Rd.

            Summary:  Michelle Perconti, age 40, of 708 Main Street in Lemont was cited for failure to stop at stop sign after she was struck by another vehicle that had the right of way.

 

5/27     Location:  100 block of Rev Walton Drive

            Summary:  Victim stated that at about 11:45am he was awaken by his dog barking.  When the victim opened the bedroom door an unknown subject was also opening the door at the same time.  The subject then ran out of the house.  A second unknown subject also fled.  The victim chased the two but lost them.  The victim’s TV that had been mounted on the living room wall was sitting on the coffee table.
