JOLIET

 

5/1       Location:  Chevy Chase and Essington

            Summary:  Fernando Mendoza, age 28, of 210 Iowa Avenue in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended and speeding.

 

            Location:  E. Cass and Henderson

            Summary:  Vincent Posey, age 21, of 2127 California in Lockport was cited for failure to signal and driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  25534 W. Knapp               Willard Grove Cemetery                     Channahon

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a cement bluish gray, 2’ x 1’ dragon that was at the foot of a headstone.  Offender/s also stole two black silk bundles of roses about three weeks prior to this date.

 

            Location:  100 block of Schorie

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a detached garage and stole a mountain bike, a Huffy bike, a push mower, and a weed wacker.

 

5/2       Location:  Collins and Francis

            Summary:  Mariano Martinez-Castillo, age 37, of 560 Ward Avenue in Joliet was arrested for DUI, no seat belt, speeding, and failure to signal.

 

            Location:  22000 block of S. Knyghtwood Drive                  Shorewood

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke the rear window of a Land Rover.

 

            Location:  Schorie and E. Washington

            Summary:  Sandra L. Hodges, age 40, of 1112 Parkwood Drive in Joliet was arrested for DUI and leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

 

            Location:  Black Rd. and NE Frontage

            Summary:  Diego Mendoza, age 23, of 110 Margaret in Joliet was cited for no valid registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, no valid driver’s license, and had an active FTA warrant.   Jessica Noyola, age 19, of 110 Margaret in Joliet was cited for following too closely after both vehicles were stopped while following each other.

 

            Location:  1906 E. Cass                      Aspen Utilities

            Summary:  Person/s unknown removed copper piping after breaking the glass front door in order to gain entry.  A large amount of water throughout the business was observed.

 

            Location:  Fuller and Rowell

            Summary:  Curtis Bernard Smith, age 43, of 516 Elmwood Avenue in Joliet was arrested for DUI, no seat belts, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and parking in roadway. 

 

5/3       Location:  95 S. Chicago                    Adult Detention Facility                    

            Summary:  Derrell Deandre Draper, age 29, currently incarcerated at the ADF, was charged with aggravated battery after he began shouting at correctional officers and became physically aggressive towards them. 

 

            Location:  300 block of White Avenue

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a detached garage and stole assorted tools, a go-kart, and an air compressor.

 

5/4       Location:  Essington and Ingalls

            Summary:  Steven Wood, age 38, of 1709 Kendall Ridge in Plainfield was arrested for DUI and driving without lights.

 

            Location:  S. Briggs and E. Washington

            Summary:  Stanford Sterling, age 46, of 1206 California in Joliet was arrested for DUI and speeding.

 

5/5       Location:  400 block of Mohawk

            Summary:  Person/s unknown shot BBs at a house causing eight holes in the siding and one hole in a front window.

 

5/6       Location:  1123 Bryan Avenue

            Summary:  William Zaffino, age 27, of this address, was arrested for DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and speeding.

 

            Location:  400 block of Peale

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke out two windows of a vehicle and caused damage to the front windshield.

 

            Location:  1703 S. Chicago               

            Summary:  Romualdo Roman-Gonzalez, age 34, of this address, was charged with no valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and failure to notify damage.

 

            Location:  18000 block of S. Briggs

            Summary:  Octavio Ramos, age 38, of 10027 Huntington Court in Orland Park was charged with endangering the life/health of a child.

 

FRANKFORT AND NEW LENOX

 

5/2       Location:  19858 S. Harlem                Frankfort         Verizon Wireless

            Summary:  Deputies were dispatched to a burglary alarm.  They observed the glass front door to be shattered.  The owner arrived and stated that miscellaneous cell phone accessories had been stolen.  An inventory, at a later time, would determine exactly what was stolen.  Video surveillance was also being reviewed.

 

5/5       Location:  800 block of Bryan Trail                New Lenox

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole an I-phone and a GPS unit.

 

            Location:  100 block of W. Michigan Rd.                  New Lenox

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a shed and stole three white box fans.

 

5/6       Location:  20000 block of S. Grand Prairie Lane                   Frankfort

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an attached garage and broke into two vehicles.  Offender/s stole 15 Taylor Made golf clubs in a golf bag and an empty golf bag. The garage door opener was also stolen from one of the vehicles.

 

 

            Location:  1000 block of Donald Court                     New Lenox

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a pair of sunglasses and an I-Pod.

 

            Location:  7400 block of W. Lakeside Drive             Frankfort

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an attached garage and removed a leaf blower, a weed cutter, and a lawn mower.

 

LOCKPORT

 

5/1       Location:  17000 block of S. Farrell Rd.

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a vehicle and stole a GPS unit.

 

5/3       Location:  100 block of Dellwood

            Summary:  A tall, light skinned, black male subject was observed fleeing a residence.  Deputies observed a forced entry to have occurred at the residence.  It appeared that nothing was stolen.

 

HOMER GLEN

           

5/2       Location:  14000 block of S. Oak Ridge Drive

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke a glass patio door in order to gain entry into an unoccupied residence.  Nothing was missing.

 

5/5       Location:  13000 block of S. Dublin Drive

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a rotary cutter from a vacant lot.

 

5/6       Location:  W. 143rd and S. Pheasant Lane

            Summary:  James Pigatto, age 24, of 13000 S. Parker Road in Lemont was arrested for DUI and speeding.

 

SOUTH TOWNSHIPS

 

5/1       Location:  E. Main and S. Railroad                Braidwood

            Summary:  Michael J. Galatzer, age 45, of 548 N. Railroad in Braidwood was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while license suspended, and failure to yield stop sign.

 

5/2       Location:  34000 block of S. Lakeside Terrace                      Wilmington

            Summary:  Person/s unknown removed a riding lawn mower that was in the rear of a residence and an outboard and electric motor were stolen from a garage.

 

            Location:  S. Symerton and W. Wilmington-Peotone                        Wilmington

            Summary:  Sergio Rodriguez Martinez, age 19, of 7429 W. Pauling Road in Monee was cited for speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, no valid registration, and driving while license suspended.

 

5/3       Location:  35100 S. Rt. 53                  Reed                Exxon Nuclear Power Plant

            Summary:    Head of Security stated that at about 11:37 am a pickup truck, driven by Raymond L. Murray, Jr., entered the security check point to unload safety equipment that was purchased by the facility.  While performing the check it was discovered that Murray had a loaded .45 Taurus, several boxes of ammunition, and a loaded 380 Ruger handgun on his person.  Murray, of 536 Scott Drive in Saraland, AL was arrested for unlawful use of a weapon.  Murray had a permit from Alabama to carry a hand gun. 

 

5/5       Location:  31000 block of S. Kedzie              Peotone

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a residence and stole a TV.

 

            Location:  22500 W. Millsdale Road              Elwood           Stepan Chemical

            Summary:  Daniel Sutter, age 32, of 32 Argyle Avenue in Joliet was arrested for possession of drug equipment, DUI, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after Stephan Chemical dispatched deputies for a suspicious subject on their property.  Security personnel had discovered Sutter and the vehicle after it appeared to have driven off the roadway and crashed through the gate. 

 

            Location:  24000 block of W. Lorenzo Rd.

            Summary:  Person/ unknown entered a job site and forced entry into an office trailer.  Stolen were an electric drill, angle grinder, reciprocating saw, and four communication radios. 

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

4/30     Location:  W. 135th and S. Budler Rd.                       Plainfield

            Summary:  Elmer C. Meider, age 41, of 167 Cherrywood Court in Romeoville was cited for too fast for conditions.

 

5/1       Location:  20000 block of W. Ames Ct.                     Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a wallet containing a driver’s license, credit card, and $60.

 

5/3       Location:  14050 S. Budler Rd.                      Plainfield                     Lakewood Falls Elementary

            Summary:  Person/s unknown used black permanent marker and drew graffiti onto the yellow club house on the school play equipment.

 

5/4       Location:  18900 W. Airport Rd.                   DuPage          

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 2007 Mack truck while it was parked in a fenced storage yard.  The padlock had been cut from the front gate.

 

5/6       Location:  S. County Line Rd. and W. Lockport                  

            Summary:   Roy E. Snell, age 68, of 715 Kenwood Street in West Chicago was cited for failure to yield at intersection.

 

EAST TOWNSHIPS

 

5/1       Location:  300 block of E. Steger Rd.                        Crete

            Summary:  Gerard Glim, age 52, of 517 Winston in Chicago Heights, was arrested for DUI, and no valid registration.

 

5/3       Location:  300 block of E. Munz Rd.             Crete

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a barn and stole two, red, Honda 250 Recon ATV’s.

 

            Location:  500 block of W. Stanton Lane                  Crete

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into two storage sheds.  Nothing was stolen.

 

5/4       Location:  24000 block of S. Willow Brook Trail                  Crete

            Summary:  Person/s unknown kicked the rear door in on a residence.  A Glock 23 pistol was stolen.

 

            Location:  24525 S. Western Avenue             Crete               BP Amoco

            Summary:  Victim stated while inside the store area he set his wallet and cell phone on the counter and turned to purchase some other items.  When he returned to the counter his wallet and cell phone were gone.

 

5/5       Location:  1600 block of W. 235th                  Monee

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered the back yard of a residence and stole a wooden plank flat-bed trailer.  A loader bucket for a skid-loader was on the trailer and also stolen.

 

5/6       Location:  W. Elms Court and S. Rt. 394                   Crete

            Summary:  Alfredo Miranda, age 46, of 15746 Finch Avenue in Harvey was cited for driving while license revoked and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

 

            Location:  7000 block of W. Foss Road                     Monee

            Summary:  Person/s unknown slashed the tires, bent the antenna and a wiper, and dented the doors of a vehicle.
