Summary: Northwest Homer Fire personnel transported an 8 year old boy to Adventist Good Samaritan Trauma Center after the boy entered the roadway on his bicycle and was struck by an S-10 pickup. Witnesses stated that due to a group of pine trees near the driveway they believe the boy did not see the truck approaching and the truck driver had no warning when the boy entered the street. The boy was later transported to Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn where he was initially being treated for a broken leg, broken arm, and dislocated hip.

Summary: The Will County Sheriff’s Office conducted a compliance check pertaining to sales of tobacco to minors. Two undercover decoys were used during the assignment to purchase cigarettes at various locations. Prior to the compliance check notices were given to stores that the assignment would be taking place. Locations checked and in compliance included: Cigarettes & Tobacco, 14321 W. 143rd Street; Phillips 66, 12819 W. 143rd Street; Tobacco Express, 14162 S. Bell Road; Shell/Circle K, 12810 W. 143rd Street; Tobacco City Plus, 14201 S. Bell Road; Speedway, 12502 W. 143rd Street; Smokers Express, 12330 W. 143rd Street; 7 Eleven, 14310 S. Will Cook Road; Speedway, 12007 W. 159th Street; County Tobacco, 12105 W. 159th Street; Eddy’s Tobacco, 12147 W. 159th Street; and Shell, 15861 S. Bell Road. The 7-Eleven at 12108 W. 159th Street was issued an ordinance violation notice.

Summary: Adam C. Harrison, age 21, of 135 S. Center in Godley was arrested for aggravated assault after a neighbor complained that while he was standing on his front porch Harrison came out of his home, located across the street, and pointed a rifle at him. A non-working BB gun was recovered from Harrison’s residence.

Summary: Jesse M. Kmetty, age 19, of 109 W. Main in Peotone was cited for no valid registration and driving while license suspended. He was held for an active Kankakee County warrant.
