JOLIET

 

4/27

            Location:  500 block of Miami

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a vehicle and stole a CD player from the dashboard.

 

            Location:  Briggs and Laraway

            Summary:  Victim stated she was southbound on Briggs at Laraway Road, stopped for the stop sign, and while proceeding was struck by another vehicle, which made her airbag deploy.  The offending vehicle took off westbound on Laraway.  The victim could not identify the other vehicle.

            Location:  700 block of Patterson Rd.

            Summary:  The owner of a rental property stated to deputies that the residence is currently unoccupied, however when he went to do a house check he discovered a 1988 Chevy Caprice Classic in the garage being stripped down.  The vehicle had been reported stolen on 4/27 to Joliet PD.  The owner had been on the property two weeks prior and the garage was empty at that time.  Under investigation.

 

            Location:  500 block of Cayuga

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a residence and stole miscellaneous jewelry and a portable DVR player.

 

            Location:  1901 E. Washington            Simply Sensual

            Summary:  During the evening hours, person/s unknown forced entry into the business and stole approximately 300 adult DVD’s worth $1,500 and assorted adult novelties worth about $2,000.  The offender/s had forcibly removed the electric meter, causing all electric to be cut off and disabled the telephone box cutting off all phone communication to the building. 

 

            Location:  500 block of Algonquin

            Summary:  Victim stated ER Solutions, a collection agency, informed her that she had an outstanding debt with AT & T for $1,016.  The victim stated she did not own this cell phone account.  The account was fraudulently obtained using the victim’s personal identifying information.

 

            Location:  Girard and Houston

            Summary:  Kirk Barker, age 42, of 19747 NE Frontage Road in Shorewood was arrested for aggravated DUI, reckless driving, attempting to elude police, obstructing justice, DUI over the legal limit, and driving while license suspended.  While on routine patrol, Sheriff’s deputies observed a van matching the description of an offending vehicle involved in fleeing from Shorewood Police.  Deputies pursued the van to the 900 block of Chicago Street in Joliet where deputies apprehended Barker.

            Location:  2506 Cass

            Summary:  Ellsworth C. Wolf, age 54, of this address, was arrested for domestic battery.

 

            Location:  Black Rd. and Essington

            Summary:  Eduardo Bernardino, age 37, of 3156 S. Millard in Chicago was cited for tinted plate cover and driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  1000 block of Yew Ct.

            Summary:  Samuel L. Howell, age 48, of 1728 Pinewood Lane in Joliet was arrested for criminal damage to property and violation of bail bond.

 

            Location:  2101 E. Laraway Rd.       Gas City

            Summary:  Matthew G. Fritz, age 31, of 129 Baybury Drive in Elwood was arrested for criminal damage to property after he allegedly entered the men’s washroom, removed a toilet tank cover and threw it over the stall onto another toilet causing the tank cover to shatter and the other toilet to have a large piece broken off.  Fritz then left the station.  The clerk heard a loud crashing noise and was able to later identify Fritz.

            Location:  Brandon and Patterson Roads

            Summary:  Sean E. Macon, age 17, of 14456 Donagel in Manhattan was cited for driving too fast for conditions and improper lane usage after he lost control of his vehicle on the slippery roadway and collided head on with another vehicle.  The driver and two passengers in the other vehicle were transported to St. Joe’s Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

            Location:  Briggs and Cass

            Summary:  David A. Wagoner, age 39, of 800 Parkwood Drive in Joliet was arrested for DUI, DUI/Drugs, possession of cannabis under 30 grams, and illegal transportation of alcohol.

 

            Location:  800 block of Draper

            Summary:  Person/s unknown kicked in a rear door to gain entry into a home under construction.  Stolen was an air compressor, cordless drills, circular saw, and a rotary saw.

 

            Location:  1800 block of Elgin

            Summary:  Person/s unknown shot four BB’s into a picture window of a residence.  No one was injured.

 

            Location:  1500 block of Ottawa

            Summary:  Shawn E. Craig, age 38, of 1420 Newton Avenue in Joliet was arrested for residential burglary. 

 

            Location:  Brandon Rd. and Patterson

            Summary:  A 55 year old, Godley resident was driving northbound on Brandon Rd. when he heard his front passenger window shatter.  The victim drove into Rockdale and called police.  The window was completely blown out. 

 

            Location:  1800 block of Elgin

            Summary:  Person/s unknown shot out a vehicle window with a BB gun while it was parked in the driveway.

            Location:  Briggs and Cass

            Summary:  Dijonia A. McGaughy, age 29, of 1324 McKay in Joliet was cited for child restraint violation, speeding, no valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

            Location:  Sweetbriar and Plainfield

            Summary:  Matthew D. Kwiatkowski, age 23, of 2137 Root Street in Crest Hill was arrested for illegal transportation of alcohol, disobeying a stop sign and DUI.

            Location:  18 NE Circle Drive

            Summary:  Mario O. Webb, age 35, of this address, was arrested for domestic battery.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

            Location:  2410 Berry         Plainfield

            Summary:  Steven Joseph Ballard, age 34, of this address, was arrested for aggravated domestic battery.

 

            Location:  23000 block of Culver        Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown spray painted graffiti on a residence fence.

            Location:  14000 block of Monticello         Plainfield

            Summary:  Davion D. Whitley, age 19, of 16 Kentland Drive in Romeoville was arrested for domestic battery and battery.

           

            Location:  Renwick and Rt. 30         Plainfield

            Summary:  Peter Lohr, age 36, of 23519 Grinton in Plainfield was arrested for theft.

            Location:  23000 block of Van Horn      Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown threw a rock at a front door of a residence causing the glass to break.

            Location:  Caton Farm and Weber Road

            Summary:  Victoria V. Wilson, age 38, of 3153 Willardshire Road in Joliet was cited for no valid registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

            Location:  27W149 Robert         Wheatland

            Summary:  Matthew J. Wanielista, age 51, of this address, was arrested for domestic battery.

 

NEW LENOX        FRANKFORT

 

 4/27

            Location:  16666 W. Cherry Creek Ct.        New Lenox        Mystic Automotive

            Summary:   Owner stated a customer came into the shop and demanded his car and some money he thought was owed to him.  When the owner attempted to get the vehicle the customer became enraged, entered the owner’s office, took a set of keys from a cabinet and drove away in the vehicle he came in.  The keys stolen did not belong to anything.

            Location:  2800 block of Hoberg Drive         New Lenox

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered two vehicles that were unlocked.  Stolen was a GPS unit and loose change from one and just loose change from the other.

 

            Location:  11101 W. 189th Place       RWD Maintenance             Frnk

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a Skagg push lawnmower.  Value $3200.

            Location:  2413 E. Laraway Rd.       Green Glen Garden Center           New Lenox

            Summary:  A white panel van with three occupants, one heavyset female/white with stringy black hair, a large black male with crossed eyes, and a small male/black with two top teeth missing, visited the garden center for over an hour, asked about tree formed rose plants and were acting suspicious.  The next morning seven tree formed rose plants were missing.  Two were recovered at the south end of the property.  The tree’s are valued at $75 a piece.

 

            Location:  2800 block of Hoberg       New Lenox

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke out a vehicle window and stole loose change.

 

EAST TOWNSHIPS

 

4/28

            Location:  200 block of Church Rd.            Beecher

            Summary:  Between the hours of 7:45 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. person/s unknown broke into a home and stole a 32” flat screen TV, a 22 caliber Remington rifle, a 410 pump shotgun, a 12 gauge Browning shotgun, a 22 automatic handgun, a fireproof box containing papers, and an unknown amount of ammunition.

 

            Location:  2056 E. Exchange      Crete

            Summary:  Daniel S. Smith, age 20, of 13281 James Drive in St. John, IN was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, after Smith’s Ford F150 pickup skidded on the wet road, lost control of his vehicle, entered the oncoming lane and struck a semi-truck and a Chevy Cavalier.  Smith was transported to St. Margaret Mercy Hospital in Dyer, IN for non-life threatening injuries.  The other drivers refused medical treatment.

            Location:  2000 block of E. Oak            Crete

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole an Apple computer, two guitars and an amplifier.

 

             Location:  Steger and Torrence Ave.       Crete

            Summary:  Kristine Cavazos, age 36, of Crete, along with her 9 year old daughter were transported to St. Margaret Mary Hospital in Dyer, IN after her BMW left the roadway and struck a tree.  Their injuries were not serious.

 

            Location:  1800 block of E. Burville          Crete

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered two unlocked vehicles and stole personal bank papers from one and a GPS unit, 3 books of blank checks, 12 CD’s and banking paperwork from the other.

            Location:  1550 E. Bemes Rd.         Crete        Odds on Acres

            Summary:  An unknown vehicle crashed thru a fence and took off.  Estimated value: $1000.

            Location:  928 E. County Line Road       Beecher

            Summary:  Michael L. Tetrev, age 24, of this address, was arrested for domestic battery.

 

            Location:  Rt. 50 and Eagle Lake Road        Monee

            Summary:  Alfreida M. Pointer, age 31, of 709 W. 66th Place in Merrillville, IN was arrested for DUI, speeding and improper lane usage.

 

HOMER GLEN

 

4/30

            Location:  147th and Lemont Road

            Summary:  Dwayne F. Obler, age 48, of 14820 Arboretum in Homer Glen, was arrested for DUI, DUI over the legal limit and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

 

            Location:  15711 Bell Road        Hadley Middle School

            Summary:  An 11 year old was participating in an after school event inside the gym when person/s unknown unzipped her backpack and stole a cell phone.

 

            Location:  14200 Parker Rd.        Old Oak Country Club

            Summary:  Owner stated, between 4/22 and 4/29, person/s unknown entered the property and stole 2 artificial turf tee mats, valued at $300 each.  They were stolen from the driving range.

 

5/2

            Location:  13000 block of Creekside Drive

            Summary:  Person/s unknown used a Visa card, without authority of the owner, at a Wal-Mart in Palmdale, CA to make two purchases totaling $674.

 

            Location:  13000 block of Lost Boy Lane

            Summary:  Jennifer L. Hanson, age 23, of 16736 Meadowdale in Oak Forest was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and failure to give information after striking property.  Hanson struck and destroyed a brick mailbox, exited her vehicle and walked to a friend’s home.  Hanson was text messaging on her cell when she lost control of the vehicle.

            Location:  143rd and Parker Road

            Summary:  A 16-year-old male, Homer Glen resident, was cited at 3:34 a.m. for curfew and Lawrence N. Sweis, age 17, of 13138 W. Creekside Drive in Homer Glen was arrested for DUI/Drugs, no valid driver’s license, improper lane usage and curfew.

 

SOUTH TOWNSHIPS

 

4/28

            Location:  200 block of Wood     Wilmington

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unattached garage and stole a CD deck, sub woofer box with speakers and a 1000w amp from a vehicle.

            Location:  Wilmington Road, west of 104th    Peotone

            Summary:  Terianna K. Bertoldi, age 19, of 610 Division in Peotone was transported to Silver Cross Hospital after she rear-ended a pickup that was stopped for a school bus.  Bertoldi was cited for no valid insurance and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

 

            Location:  24700 W. Stripmine Road       Wilmington       Triangle Mini Storage

            Summary:  Between 4/12 and 4/29, person/s unknown forced entry into a storage unit and stole a Trek 820 mountain bike, a men’s Schwinn bike, a 36” TV, two speakers and two computer speakers.

            Location:  3195 E. Division        Diamond           Shell Gas

            Summary:  The driver of a Toyota Rav 4 pumped 12.47 gallons of gas ($26) and left without paying.

            Location:  200 block of Wood           Wilmington

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a home that is under construction and stole an air compressor, nail gun, air wrench, air nailer, and air framing nailer, miter saw, assorted tools and a small 2-cycle gas scooter.

            Location:  Coal City Rd. and Rt. 53         Custer Park

            Summary:  Andrew R. Guilde, age 22, of 610 Preston Drive in Bolingbrook was arrested for driving while license suspended and improper display of registration sticker.

 

5/4

            Location:  1910 Bruning Drive      Wesley        Bruning School

            Summary:  Person/s unknown ripped one window screen on the northwest side of the school, bent a fence support, ripped another screen on the southwest side, and removed a gate from its supports and bent it.

 

LOCKPORT

            Location:  200 block of North Avenue

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke a window of a house. 

 

            Location:  300 block of Bruce Road

            Summary:  Jose L. Aldava, age 31, of 1326 E. 159th St. in Lockport, was arrested for domestic battery and criminal damage to property.

 

4/30

            Location:  302 Prairie Avenue        Telecab Taxi

            Summary:  Owner reported to deputies at 7:16 a.m., that one of his drivers started his shift at 10pm on 4/29.  He was given three assignments, which ended at 10:44 p.m.  At that time it appeared that the GPS unit inside the cab was disabled and since then there had been no contact with the driver. The missing taxi is described as a white 2003 Ford Crown Victoria, four door with the words Telecab in red letters on the side.

 

            Location:  Briggs and Oak

            Summary:  Jason J. Majerczyk, age 24, of 1224 Tralee Lane in Lockport was arrested for DUI, DUI over the legal limit and improper lane usage.

            Location:  17635 W. Oak Avenue        Brigadier Roofing

            Summary:  Owner stated person/s unknown entered the business and stole 4 Honda generators, a pressure washer, Miller welder, Lincoln welder, sawzall, drill set, and a compressor.  Unfamiliar tire impressions in the mud were observed where the suspects used some type of trailer to pull on the back of a vehicle.

            Location:  15000 S. High Road          Lockport Golf and Rec Club

            Summary:  Tracey Dean Haygood, age 41, male, of 602 Table St. in Lockport was charged with criminal trespass to property after Lockport Police observed the main gate to the golf course had been forced open and a van was located on the north end of the property about ½ mile from the entrance, at 2:00 a.m.  Haygood was seen at 3:15 a.m. returning to the van from an unknown location and was arrested by Sheriff’s deputies.

            Summary:  Nestor O. Gonzales, age 39, of this address, was arrested for domestic battery.

 

            Location:  Rt. 7, east of Rt. 53

            Summary:  Gregory J. Holley, age 39, of 54 Townsend Circle in Naperville was arrested for DUI and speeding
