Wilmington Township



            Location:  Rt. 53, south of Hoff Road

            Summary:  Sandra A. Brezinski, age 51, of 13855 Twin Oaks Ct. in Homer Glen, was arrested for illegal transportation of alcohol, improper parking on the roadway, DUI, and DUI over the legal limit. 


Troy Township



            Location:  Black Rd. and I-55     Shorewood

            Summary:  Daniel S. Griffin, age 42, of 8 Valley View in Lemont was arrested for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, no seatbelt, no valid driver’s license, DUI and DUI over the legal limit. 


Plainfield Township



            Location:  Caton Farm and Golfview      Plainfield

            Summary:  Blaise T. Maugeri, age 39, male, of 2517 Vision Avenue in Plainfield was arrested for speeding and DUI.



            Location:   21000 block of Redberry Ct.     Plainfield

            Summary:  Victim stated that while shopping inside the Meijer store in Bolingbrook she had her purse inside the shopping cart.  While shopping, person/s unknown stole her wallet out of her purse.  Once at the register to pay her purchase she realized it was gone.  $22 USC, bankcards, credit cards and identifying information were inside.



            Location:  Caton Farm Rd.

            Summary:  Charles M. Delehanty, age 37, of 2510 Commonwealth Avenue in Joliet was arrested for driving without lights, aggravated speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and DUI. 


            Location:  Caton Farm Road

            Summary:  Shawn E. Lahti, age 37, of 2925 Woodside Drive in Joliet was charged with aggravated speeding.




Wheatland Township



            Location:  111th and Book Road       Naperville

            Summary:  A two vehicle accident occurred when a driver, Paulina Bitsky, age 27, of Naperville, was heading west on 111th when she lost control of her vehicle and crossed the center line striking Karen Chron Pieler, age 45, of Bolingbrook.  Both women were taken to Edwards Hospital in Naperville for medical evaluations.


Jackson Township



            Location:  29000 block of Warner Bridge      Wilmington

            Summary:  Victim stated person/s unknown slashed two tires on his vehicle.



            Location:  Millsdale and Brandon       

            Summary:  Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched in reference to a vehicle on fire.  A 2003, Honda, two-door hatchback was found in the ditch fully engulfed in flames.  The vehicle had no passengers and no one was in the area.    Under investigation.


Manhattan Township



            Location:  Kankakee St., south of Monee Manhattan Road    

            Summary:  Upon arriving at the scene of a one car accident, Manhattan Fire Department was transporting the driver of an SUV identified as Danielle Bird, age 17, of 375 Kay in Manhattan.  As Ms. Bird was turning onto Kankakee St. she hit a patch of ice and lost control of her vehicle striking a guardrail and a stop sign.  She was transported to Silver Cross Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.


New Lenox Township



            Location:  12617 Old Plank Drive       KD Auto Repair

            Summary:  Victim stated person/s unknown entered his vehicle while it was parking in the parking lot and stole his XM satellite radio.


            Location:  13000 block of Steeplechase Drive

            Summary:  An employee of DES Development stated person/s unknown entered the home, which is under construction, and stole a Viking oven and cook top.







            Location:  19000 block of Hunter Trail

            Summary:  Victim stated person/s unknown entered his Camaro and stole his wallet, ignition key and a house key.



            Location:  Rt. 30, west of I-80

            Summary:  During a routine traffic stop, Frank Diaz, Jr., age 24, of 3038 Florence in Steger was cited for speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.  His passenger, Jason M. Smith, age 24, of 529 Emerald in Chicago Heights had a valid warrant out of Porter County, IN for theft.  After being taken into custody Smith was also charged with possession of cannabis under 30 grams.



            Location:  Francis and Parker Rd.

            Summary:  A vehicle driven by Lora Lee Johnson, age 42, address unknown, was struck in the rear by a school bus driven by William Slager, age 79.  While attempting to stop the school bus slid on ice forcing Johnsons’ vehicle into a telephone pole.  Johnson was transported to Silver Cross Hospital for neck and back injuries.


Homer Glen Township



            Location:  16000 block of S. Pine Hill Drive

            Summary:  Victim stated person/s unknown knocked down her mailbox causing damage to it.



            Location:  15000 block of 141st St.

            Summary:  Victim stated person/s unknown stole three sections of white vinyl fencing from her property.



            Location:  151st and Bell Rd.

            Summary:  Catherine M. Collins, age 17, of 14865 W. Ashton in Lockport was cited for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and illegal transportation of alcohol.


            Location:  12819 W. 143rd St.     Phillips 66 Gas Station

            Summary:  Cashier stated person/s unknown pumped $38.20 worth of gasoline into their vehicle and drove away. 







            Location:  13011 W. 143rd St.      Homer Wine and Liquors

            Summary:  Employee stated that after reviewing his surveillance tapes from 1/20/08, he observed a male/white wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the #23 on it, take a $40 bottle of Champagne and place it by the entrance door.  Offender then took a bottle of Spumonti and placed it on the shelving unit where the Champagne had been.  The offender then bought a six pack of Heineken and left the store, but not before he reached back and took the bottle of Champagne with him.


Green Garden Township



            Location:  7200 block of Palomino Trace

            Summary:  Victim stated that upon checking the model home at her property she observed a red Ford Explorer with a broken passenger side window parked there.  Sheriff’s deputies discovered that the vehicle had previously been reported stolen through Midlothian Police Department.


Frankfort Township



            Location:  7600 block of Benton Drive

            Summary:  Victim stated person/s unknown broke out two windows of his vehicle in order to gain entry and steal his stereo system, several CD’s and his cell phone charger.



            Location:  20000 block of Sycamore

            Summary:  Victim stated that while checking her bank accounts on line she discovered that an e-check was issued to Wal Mart for over $1,000 that she never authorized.



            Location:  7260 W. North Avenue             Summit Hill Jr. High

            Summary:  Victim stated while leaving the building for lunch she found that person/s unknown had broken her passenger side window to her vehicle and stole her purse, which was hidden out of sight.  The offenders had already used her Discover Card by the time she found out about the theft.



            Location:  20325 Graceland            Advocate Health Center

            Summary:  Employee stated person/s unknown used a small projectile to cause a small hole in the front door window of the building.






            Location:  20118 S. Rosewood Drive

            Summary:  Richard G. Edge, age 43, of this address, was arrested for domestic battery and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.


            Location:  200 block of Colorado

            Summary:  Peter G. Avros, age 44, of 8036 Farmhouse in Frankfort was arrested for domestic battery and transported to the Will County ADF.



Washington Township



            Location:  1021 E. Eagle Lake      Beecher          Jim’s Tree’s

            Summary:  Owner stated person/s unknown ran off the road into his neighbor’s culvert and struck his neighbors mailbox.  The offender then came into his tree nursery and ran over seven small trees.  During the writing of this report, David Carlson, age 42, of Crete, arrived on the scene and identified himself as the driver of the vehicle.  At 12:30 a.m. he was driving on



Eagle Lake Road when he hit a patch of ice and spun out of control.  He went home and was returning to the scene to report the accident.



            Location:  30000 block of Klemme Rd.    

            Summary:  Victim stated that he answered an ad in a local paper on 12/11/07 for part time work.  The ad instructed interested parties to contact a Michael J. Sloan.  Over a four week period the victim received three different checks for approximately $4,000 each and was told to deposit the money into an account, keep 10% and send 90% to an address in Nigeria.  All three checks were found to be fraudulent.  The three companies issuing the fraudulent checks were RLB Investments from Ft. Worth, TX, WYN WYN, Inc. from Wood Dale, IL and Mouser Electronics from Mansfield, TX.  Under investigation.


Crete Township



            Location:  2000 block of Hickory

            Summary:  Victim stated person/s unknown stole her debit card and made several purchases with it.



            Location:  1100 block of New Monee Rd.

            Summary:  Victim stated that person/s unknown threw a rock through her window of her vehicle and stole her purse out of the backseat.





            Location:  2000 block of Maple

            Summary:  Victim stated person/s unknown tore out all eleven Malibu lights along his driveway and destroyed them on his driveway.  



Lockport Township



            Location:  407 Dellwood Avenue 

            Summary:  Eferm B. Green, age 47, of this address, was arrested for domestic battery and was transported to the Will County ADF.


Joliet Township



            Location:  100 block of Edison Rd.

            Summary: Victim stated person/s unknown broke out the window of his vehicle.



            Location:  Briggs and Washington

            Summary:  Tamika M. Clarke, age 38, of 2713 Cross Creek Court in Joliet was cited for driving on a suspended license and no valid registration.


            Location:  500 block of Algonquin

            Summary:  Victim stated that when arriving back home she noticed lights on inside her apartment and became suspicious.  Once inside, Sheriff’s deputies realized that person/s unknown had in fact broken into the apartment and completely ransacked it.  Stolen was a sofa, chair, two TV’s, a headboard, bed frame and end tables. 


            Location:  Bradford Road

            Summary:  Will County Sheriff’s Gang Suppression Unit executed a search warrant and arrested Cedric D. Harris, age 29, and Cornealius A. Moffett, age 22, both of 15 Bradford, Apt. 201 in Joliet.  They were charged with possession of a controlled substance. 


            Location:  1910 S. Briggs         Com Ed

            Summary:  Yard manager stated person/s unknown cut a hole in a chain link fence and stole two 400’ rolls of copper wire.  The rolls were in two different locations within the property.  Estimated loss was about $800.



            Location:  Collins and Hill Streets

            Summary:  Dekendrick D. Autman, age 27, of 319 Nobes Avenue in Lockport was charged with obstructing a police officer and had two FTA active warrants.



Location:  Briggs and Elgin

            Summary:  Marino Ramos, age 66, of 422 Leach St. in Joliet was charged with driving while license revoked and uninsured motor vehicle.


            Location:  Briggs and Cass

            Summary:  James C. Talmadge, age 17, of 133 Independence in Joliet was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of cannabis with intent to deliver.


            Location:  Pheasant Run Rd.

            Summary:  A 25 year old, male victim stated while walking up the stairs at the apartment complex, a male, black, about 5’10”, with a thin build, wearing dark clothing and a black ski mask, stopped him, produced a gun and told the victim, “Give me all your money.”  The victim then gave the offender his cash and his cell phone.  The offender then told the victim to run, which he did, while the offender took off back down the stairs in the opposite direction and out of the building.



            Location:  Brandon and Zurich

            Summary:  Johan Parilla, age 34, of 230 N. Hickory, Apt. M2 in Joliet was charged with disobeying a no passing zone after he attempted to pass a southbound slow moving vehicle and struck a Chrysler 300 traveling in the northbound lane.  The Chrysler was driven by Katrina Colbert, age 34 of Elwood.  She was transported to Silver Cross Hospital.


            Location:  500 block of Scribner

            Summary:  Victim stated person/s unknown broke the glass of the front door, reached inside and turned the deadbolt latch in order to gain entry into his residence.  Stolen was a briefcase that contained USC.  Nothing else was disturbed inside the home.



            Location:  Grinton Ave and Jackson

            Summary:  Employee of Robert E. Hamilton Consulting Engineers stated that a brown Chevy pickup drove over their surveying station that was set up on Jackson Street and blocked off by orange traffic cones and continued driving. 



            Location:  Anderson Avenue and Washington

            Summary:  Patricia B. Morin, age 28, of 123 S/E Circle in Joliet was arrested for aggravated battery and domestic battery.  Michael P. Grigat, age 34, of the same address, was arrested for domestic battery.
