Summary: William D. Goncher, age 60, of 730 Campbell Avenue in Chicago Heights was arrested for improper lane usage (striking the median), improper lane usage (crossing center line), operating an uninsured motor vehicle, DUI, possession of cannabis less than 10 grams, and possession of drug equipment.
1/15 Location: 8000 block of W. Woodvale Rd. Frankfort
Summary: Deputies were called to assist fire. Upon arrival Frankfort Fire was extinguishing a structure fire inside an unoccupied house. There was no gas or power connected to the house. The state fire marshal was called to investigate.

Summary: Mohammed Saleh, age 23, of 9123 Falcon Ridge in Bridgeview was arrested for improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol, DUI, and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after he pulled into Speedway Gas and struck another vehicle.

Summary: Person/s unknown removed three truck batteries from a 2007 International semi truck and three batteries from a Mack truck.

Summary: Person/s unknown entered the property and siphoned about 150 gallons of diesel fuel from the external fuel tanks of a 2000 Peterbuilt semi truck, about 150 gallons of diesel fuel from a 2006 Peterbuilt semi truck, about 200 gallons of diesel fuel from a 1996 Kenworth semi truck, and about 200 gallons of diesel fuel from a 2005 Kenworth semi truck.

Summary: Person/s unknown attempted to break in to a vacant residence. Offender/s did however steal a central air conditioning unit from the outside of the residence.
1/20 Location: 200 block of McCameron Avenue
Summary: Person/s unknown threw a rock and a 40 oz. bottle of beer through the front window of a residence, carved the letters “VLN” into the paint on a vehicle, and slit a tire on the vehicle. Witnesses stated that a silver or beige sports utility vehicle was observed leaving the area shortly after the incident. The letters are believed to be referring to the gang Vice Lord Nations.

Summary: A member of the Water Tower Drive Homeowner’s Association stated that two panels in the vinyl fence by the front gate were knocked down by an ATV and broken.

1/17 Location: 24525 S. Western Avenue Crete BP Amoco
Summary: An unknown male/black attempted to purchase some items with a $20 bill. The attendant discovered the money to be counterfeit. The patron then used another currency bill and left. It was later discovered that a $50 bill and six $20 bills were found to be counterfeit in the cash drawer. On 1/18/13 another $20 was found to be counterfeit that an unknown male/black attempted to use to purchase an item.

Summary: Johnny Lee Smith, age 54, of 11635 S. Vincennes Avenue in Chicago was arrested for illegal transportation of alcohol and obstructed front windshield and was held on an active FTA warrant. Dennis M. Kopman, age 44, of 1712 S. Dixie Highway in Crete was also arrested for illegal transportation of alcohol.

Summary: Upon arriving at the business at 9:30am, the owner and an employee observed between 60 and 90 cartons of Newport cigarette cartons missing from a shelf. While looking through the business they found a yellow crowbar on the floor near the back door where person/s unknown had broken in. Video surveillance is being reviewed.

Summary: Person/s unknown entered a vehicle and stole a laptop and a Sirius Radio receiver.
Location: 14200 S. Bell Road Dominick’s
Summary: While performing inventory an employee found that person/s unknown had stolen a 750ml bottle of Ketel One vodka and a 750ml bottle of Johnny Walker Red. Video surveillance was reviewed and a male/white individual was observed removing them from the shelf and leaving the store. While continuing the inventory it was found that person/s unknown had stolen two bottle of Effen Vodka, two bottles of Johnny Walker Red, two bottles of Hypnotiq, and four bottles of Ketel One vodka. Upon reviewing video surveillance two white male individuals were observed taking the bottles off the shelves and leaving without paying.
