JOLIET

 

6/27     Location:  2500 block of Golfview Drive

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke the side window and dented the rear side door of a vehicle.

 

6/28     Location:  14 W. Jefferson                 Will County Courthouse

            Summary:  Christina M. Sepsis, age 32, of 221 Haines Avenue in New Lenox was arrested for fraud after a drug testing officer found a small bottle of urine inside her pants as she was supplying a court ordered urine sample. 

 

            Location:  2500 block of Crystal Drive

            Summary:  Person/s unknown damaged a lawn by driving thru it leaving 2 foot deep tire tracks.

 

6/29     Location:  1100 block of Gael Drive

            Summary:  While a husband and wife were outside their residence, person/s unknown entered their home and stole a 26” TV and a cell phone.

 

            Location:  600 block of Linden Avenue

            Summary:  Victim stated that at about 7am she was awaken by her daughter who informed her that an unknown male black individual, about 19 years old, was standing in her bedroom doorway.  When the daughter opened her eyes and the subject saw her, he ran out the front door.  A wallet with USC and debit cards was stolen.

 

            Location:  1400 block of Burger Avenue

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a vehicle and stole a purse with USC and a GPS unit.

 

            Location:  2513 E. Cass              Z & Z Construction

            Summary:  John R Shouse, age 35, of 304 Willow in Frankfort and Scott W. McCauley, age 29, of 924 N. Raynor in Joliet were arrested for theft over $300 after a witness reported observing the subjects taking concrete forms and putting them into their truck.

 

            Location:  24736 W. Canal Road                   Feeney Excavating

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole 12 trench box spreaders, 1 post auger, 3 B-Boxes, 1 big box, 5 fittings, and 4 bee hive covers.  Value loss:  $5,600.

 

            Location:  17000 block of Rosalind

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole a laptop, miscellaneous change, video camera, jewelry, an IPod, Wii gaming system, DSI gaming system and a digital camera.

 

            Location:  Mills Road and Pequot

            Summary:  Lionel Loper, age 32, of 417 Center Street in Joliet was charged with illegal transportation on alcohol, driving while license suspended, and speeding.

 

6/30     Location:  500 block of Cayuga

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a pool filter and chlorinator from a residence.

 

 

 

7/1       Location:  200 block of SW Circle Drive

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked detached garage and stole a chainsaw, wet saw, power washer, and generator.

 

            Location:  1822 E. Washington                      Ingalls Park Liquors

            Summary:  About midnight an unknown male black, about 30-35 years of age, entered the store and began arguing with an employee after he was asked to leave.  The subject then pushed over the cash register onto the floor causing it to break, and threw various other items onto the floor before leaving.

 

7/3       Location:  Caton Farm and Kellogg

            Summary:  Darlene L. Mozina, age 59, of 2513 Golfview Drive in Joliet was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.

 

            Location:  300 block of Blossom

            Summary:  Between 7/1 and this date, person/s unknown used an unknown chemical to burn/write racist words into the landscaped lawn of a residence. 

 

            Location:  N. Briggs and Maple Road

            Summary:  Derrick R. Voris, age 20, of 221 SW Circle Drive in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended.

 

7/4       Location:  200 block of Colburn

            Summary:  Witnesses reported observing two vehicles on Colburn and advised hearing a gunshot coming from one of them. 

 

HOMER GLEN

 

6/29     Location:  13956 S. Bell Road                       Menards

            Summary:  Ricardo Jesus Rodriguez, age 55, of 137 N. Jefferson St. in Lockport was arrested for retail theft and aggravated assault after he pulled a knife on an employee when the employee confronted him about the theft.  Employees discovered two Master Force 18v drill sets and  3 Vermont Rotary Percussion masonry drill bits concealed in Rodriguez’ vehicle.

 

            Location:  12000 block of Meadowland Drive

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole two 2’ tall composite decorative mushrooms from the front lawn of a residence.  Another mushroom had been stolen on 6/22.

 

7/1       Location:  W. Choctaw and S. Potawatomi

            Summary:  Raymond a. Roberts, age 18, of 15118 W. Laurel Lane in Lockport was cited for expired registration and no muffler. 

 

            Location:  16000 block of 139th Street

            Summary:  An 85 year old victim stated that around 2pm she observed 3 unknown male Hispanic’s inside her residence.  When they saw her they began yelling “fire” and told her they needed to get her out of the house.  When the victim unlocked the back door the men ran off.

 

            Location:  13956 S. Bell Road                       Menards

            Summary:  Store manager stated on 6/30 at about 1pm he observed a white female place a Bosch nailer ($299) and a Bosch 12v saw ($199) into her shopping cart.  As he observed the female walking around the store he saw her place two boxes back onto a shelf.  Upon investigating the manager found the boxes empty.  The female left the store and entered a Ford Explorer.  On 7/1 the store manager again observed the same female enter the store.  When the manager confronted the female she denied the allegation and left the store. 

 

            Location:  W. 159th and S. Messenger

            Summary:  Tasha N. Mallard, age 40, of 215 Sauk Trail in Park Forest was cited for driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.  Mallard was held on an FTA warrant out of Markham.

 

7/2       Location:  17000 block of S. Bruce Circle

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a 1987 white Chevy cargo van from a resident’s driveway.  The van contained video equipment.

 

            Location:  15830 S. Bell Road                       Sears Essential

            Summary:  Ariel A. Utterback, age 27, of 355 Duane in Glen Ellyn was arrested for retail theft after she was observed getting a bottle of Dasani water from a cooler, walk to the woman’s clothing, look around while drinking the water, and then leave the store.  Loss prevention officer asked Utterback if she could pay the $1.83 for the water and she could not. 

 

7/3       Location:  14000 block of Clydesdale Lane

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a stainless steel gas range from a residence.

 

7/4       Location:  16000 block of S. Parker Road

            Summary:  Between 6/13 and this date, person/s unknown stole a yellow 1970 Honda Trail 70 dirt bike from a barn.

 

SOUTH TOWNSHIPS

 

6/27     Location:  24001 W. Lorenzo Road               Wilmington                 Knights Inn

            Summary:  Victim stated he was packing up his vehicle at about 5am to go home to Florida and while returning to his vehicle, after getting the rest of his luggage from his room, he observed a white male in his late teens/early 20’s, in the back seat.  When the offender saw the victim he ran to a white PT Cruiser and drove off.  Offender made off with the victim’s wallet containing USC, a debit card, and Florida driver’s license.

 

6/28     Location:  25000 block of S. Redstone Drive                        Manhattan

            Summary:  Person/s unknown carved vulgarities and drew obscene pictures into the paint on a vehicle.

 

6/29     Location:  17000 block of W. Bell Road                    Wilmington

            Summary:  Victim stated that at about 9:15pm she observed two male white subjects get into a silver Toyota hatchback that was parked up close to her garage and drive away.  Victim found a side door to the residence had been opened.

 

7/1       Location:  W. Joliet Road and Rt. 45             Peotone

            Summary:  Anthony D. Layne, age 46, of 1924 N. Hickory in Crest Hill was cited for driving while license suspended and no valid registration.

 

            Location:  35000 block of S. Jay Drive                      Wilmington

            Summary:  Timothy A. Perry, age 35, of 35745 S. Jay Drive in Wilmington was arrested for aggravated battery.

 

7/2       Location:  26000 block of W. Willow Lane               Wilmington

            Summary:  James J. Goode, age 20, of 908 Valencia Drive in Shorewood was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after he lost control of his vehicle and rolled it over onto the hood.  Goode did not require medical attention.

 

7/3       Location:  Cottage Road and Will Road                    Wilmington

            Summary:  Bradley A. Sorg, age 19, of 24760 Cottage Road in Wilmington was arrested for DUI, DUI over the legal limit, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and improper lane usage.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

6/28     Location:  13000 block of S. Vicky                Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a garage with two vehicles inside and stole a GPS unit, a diaper bag, a gym back, and a small folding knife.

 

7/1       Location:  23000 block of W. Link Lane                   Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown egged a truck on 6/22, 6/23, and 6/29. 

 

            Location:  Grand Haven and S. Weber Road             Plainfield

            Summary:  Eric W. Washington, age 17, of 341 Richmond Drive in Romeoville was arrested for aggravated assault.

 

7/2       Location:  21000 block of W. Cascade Court                        Plainfield

            Summary:  Witness stated that at 2:40am he observed a subject with a baseball bat walking toward a dark blue Chevy and drive off.  Upon investigating he discovered a neighbor’s vehicle that had its windows broken, four flat tires, and dents on it.

 

7/4       Location:  Schillinger Drive                            Wheatland

            Summary:  Person/s unknown put several small dents on the side of a vehicle and siphoned about 10 gallons of gasoline out of it.

 

FRANKFORT AND NEW LENOX

 

6/27     Location:  25161 S. Center Road                   Frankfort                     Green Arbor

            Summary:  Owner stated at 5:15am he observed an unknown pickup truck fueling up at the company owned fuel tank.  The owner spoke with the driver, a male white with a beard, who stated that he needed gas as he was down on his luck and would pay the owner back when he had some cash.  The unknown male then drove off. 

 

6/29     Location:  1066 Industry Road                      New Lenox                 Crest Industries

            Summary:  Plant Manager stated person/s unknown stole a steel pole that weighs about 200-300 lbs.

 

6/30     Location:  19000 block of S. Graceland                     Frankfort

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole an I Pass and garage door opener from a vehicle.

 

7/2       Location:  E. Joliet Highway and Williams                New Lenox

            Summary:  Brian M. Bernacki, age 30, of 129 Williams in New Lenox was arrested for reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, speeding and six counts of criminal damage to property after he was driving south on Williams, drove off the road, and struck six mailboxes. 

 

EAST TOWNSHIPS

 

6/28     Location:  5500 block of W. Oakbrook Road                        Monee

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a residence and stole a pressure washer, chainsaw, and two 150lb. oxygen tanks.  Witness reported seeing a green Ford Ranger or Chevy S-10 pickup with two white males loading the property.

 

6/30     Location:  W. Goodenow and Rt. 394 SB                 Crete

            Summary:  Kevin Gawlinski, age 41, of 16953 E. Rt. 17 in Grant Park was cited for improper display of registration and driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  W. Crete Monee Road and S. Western                 Crete

            Summary:  Curtis Gruszkowski, age 20, of 3039 Sangamon Street in Steger was cited for failure to reduce speed, disobeying a traffic control device, no seatbelt and no driver’s license on person, after he drove off the roadway and hit an embankment.

 

7/3       Location:  South 394 and Bemes Road                                  Crete

            Summary:  Miguel A. Lopez, age 27, of 10830 S. Avenue in Chicago was cited for driving while license suspended.

 

7/4       Location:  1500 block of W. Richton Road               Crete

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole a 42” TV, a camera, miscellaneous change, and a 2004 Honda CRF 50 motorbike.

 

LOCKPORT

 

7/1       Location:  MacGregor and McCameron

            Summary:  Jeffrey Velarde, age 18, of 14055 S. High Road in Lockport was cited for failure to signal and no valid driver’s license.

 

7/4       Location:  2200 block of N. Fairview Avenue

            Summary:  Victim stated while in her living room she heard breaking glass.  Deputies located a bullet lying on the floor of the residence and a second bullet lodged into the outside framework of the residence.
