Joliet

 

2/16     Location:  Briggs and Cass

            Summary:  Mickey C. Smith, age 42, of 114 Park Drive in Joliet was cited for driving while license revoked and improper lane usage.

 

            Location:  300 block of Oak

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a residence and stole as 50” TV, a computer monitor, CD player, speakers, stereo receiver, acoustic guitar, a watch, diamond ring and a DVD player.

 

2/18     Location:  1822 E. Washington Street            Ingalls Park Liquors

            Summary:  A 29 year old male victim stated as he was leaving the store he glanced at a female that was sitting in a parked vehicle.  The white female (curly blonde hair, in her 20’s) got upset, exited the vehicle and began to run after the victim and was then joined by a male black subject in his 20’s. The two subjects caught the victim, brought him to the ground and proceeded to batter him about the face with their fists.  Two more subjects exited the liquor store, a light skinned male black and a male Hispanic, and proceeded to batter the victim, one with his fists the other with a baseball bat, striking him in the side of his body.  The four subjects then entered a blue Chevy and left the scene.  The victim was transferred to Silver Cross Hospital.  It appeared that his injuries were non-life threatening when he left the scene.

 

            Location:  Briggs and Cass

            Summary:  Ambrosio Bernal Garcia, age 46, of 2303 Fairmont in Lockport was arrested for speeding, driving while license revoked, DUI and DUI over the legal limit.

 

            Location:  25821 Canal Road N.        Channahon

            Summary:  James F. Hess, age 58, of this address was arrested for domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.

 

2/19     Location:  Essington and Chevy Chase

            Summary:  Cassie d. Martinson, age 23, of 22045 Lockport Road in Plainfield was arrested for speeding, DUI and DUI over the legal limit.

 

            Location:  Barr Elms Avenue

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a residence and stole a camera, 2 telephoto lenses and a carrying case.

 

2/20     Location:  300 block of Davison

            Summary:  Michael A. Martin, age 21, of 305 Davison in Joliet, was arrested for reckless driving, and two charges of disobeying a stop sign.

 

            Location:  1900 E. Washington St.                 Cruisers Car Wash

            Summary:  Person/s unknown damaged a change box and stole $30 from it.

 

2/21     Location:  300 block of Timberline

            Summary:  Person/s unknown moved two lawn ornaments from a residence front porch to the middle of the front lawn.  One of the ornaments received damaged. 

 

            Location:  Cass and Page

            Summary:  Nicholas Roman, age 39, of 1407 E. Washington in Joliet was arrested for speeding, no insurance, no valid driver’s license, DUI and failure to secure a child in a restraint system.  Roman also was held on an active no-bond warrant.

 

East Townships

 

2/18     Location:  700 block of w. Kent                     Crete

            Summary:  Person/s unknown used a fraudulent electronic check to deposit $398 into a victim’s account and then removed the cash.

 

2/19     Location:  24028 S. Home Avenue       Bertrand Landscaping                      Monee

            Summary:     Owner stated person/s unknown broke into his business and stole two laptops, USC, and numerous credit cards.

 

2/20     Location:  3100 block of E. Buried Oak Drive                      Crete

            Summary:  Person/s unknown used a debit card without the authority of its owner.  The victim was contacted by their bank for unusual purchases which included two international fees for using an ATM.

 

2/21     Location:  1000 block of E. Corning Road                Washington

            Summary:  Victim stated that she had been renting space in her barn to a person who was training her horses.  Upon arriving at the barn she discovered the person had removed a full size mattress, set of horse hair trimmers, set of horse reins, sulky racing cart, two horse bits and three cooking pans.  The person’s horse trailer was also gone and victim believes the person may be headed for Iowa.

 

Frankfort and New Lenox

 

2/17     Location:  7818 W. Lincoln Highway                        Hot Grill                      Frankfort

            Summary:  Owner stated two male white subjects walked out of the restaurant and stood under an awning.  While under the awning one of the subjects jumped up and punched out a light cover which caused it to break.  The owner told the subjects that they needed to pay for the cover and they stated they would not and left in a Ford pickup.

 

2/18     Location:  191st and LaGrange                       Frankfort

            Summary:  Gregorio H. Gutierrez, age 64, of 3021 W. 145th Place in Posen was cited for no registration plate light, driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

2/19     Location:  9400 block of Hawthorne Avenue                        Mokena

            Summary:  Victim attempted to use his debit card at a gas station and it was denied.  Upon checking on his account he discovered person/s unknown has make purchases over his balance amount. 

 

            Location:  201 W. Colorado Avenue              Lincoln Way East       Frankfort

            Summary:  A 15 year old male victim stated that after school, while attending track practice, he placed his cell phone and wallet into a locked locker.  Upon his return he observed his lock cut open and items missing.  Upon looking around the locker room he discovered his cell phone broken into two pieces along with a set of bolt cutters.  His wallet was not found.

 

2/20     Location:  1801 E. Lincoln Highway             New Lenox             Lincoln Way Central

            Summary:  While attending a school dance a 16 year old and 18 year old had their vehicle broken into.  A purse was stolen from inside. 

 

            Location:  7300 block of Braemar Lane                     Frankfort

            Summary:  Victim stated at about 7:43pm she heard noises at the front of her residence and upon investigating found several eggs broken on the front porch and on the front door.  Victim stated this has been an ongoing problem. (see next report)

 

            Location:  Skye Drive and Thistle Lane                     Frankfort

            Summary:  At about 10:57pm deputies were on patrol and observed three male juveniles (two 12 year olds and one 13 year old) in the area where they had earlier taken a criminal damage to property report on Braemar Lane (see above report).  After questioning them they were charged with criminal damage to property, were brought into the Sheriff’s Department, were processed, and released to their parents.

 

Homer Glen

           

2/16     Location:  13000 block of S. Archer Avenue

            Summary:  Steven C. Manos, age 21, of 513 Reef Road in Lockport was arrested for domestic battery and criminal damage to property.

 

2/17     Location:  14000 block of W. Birchwood Court

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a GPS, a laptop, radar detector and a pair of Rayban sunglasses.

 

2/18     Location:  15000 block of S. Elder Court

            Summary:  At 4:30am victim heard her dog barking and upon investigating found the overhead garage door open with the hood of her vehicle propped open.  Two dirt bike helmets, two pairs of dirt bike pants, and miscellaneous hand tools were stolen. 

 

2/19     Location:  15000 block of S. Sulky Drive

            Summary:  At 10:55pm victim was awakened by a loud noise and upon investigating observed a dark colored older model Cadillac with a loud muffler driving eastbound on Colt Drive.  He then found the rear window of his vehicle had been shattered by a brick.

 

            Location:  13000 block of W. Oakwood Court

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a GPS unit.

 

            Location:  143rd and Bell

            Summary:  Michael T. Madigan, age 27, of 607 Jaquays in Lockport was cited for driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  14000 block of s. Heatherwood Drive

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a radar detector.

 

2/20     Location:  13905 S. Arapaho Trail

            Summary:  Edward Skonie, age 40, of this address, was arrested for domestic battery.

 

            Location:  151st and Will Cook Road

            Summary:  Nicholas E. Fortino, age 36, of 17528 Redwood Lane in Tinley Park was arrested for DUI, disobeying a stop sign, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

2/21     Location:  14803 S. Founders Xing                Austin’s Black Belt Academy

            Summary:  Owners stated person/s unknown stole six large mirrors that had been stored in a hallway of the business.  The mirrors were 6’ x 3’ and were etched.  Each mirror was valued at $800.

 

Lockport

 

2/19     Location:  18962 W. Airport Road         Crawford Bus Service

            Summary:    Employee stated at 1:11pm person/s unknown entered his bus that was parked in the lot and stole his Ipod, GPS unit, Cubs jacket and a computer bag.  The employee had been sitting in his bus and went into the office for five minutes and upon his return realized he had been robbed.

 

2/20     Location:  200 block of W. Bruce Road

            Summary:  Manager of Pizza 4 U (970 E. 9th St. in Lockport) stated that they received a phone call before midnight from a customer who identified himself as “Brian”.  Brian ordered two pizzas and a bottle of vodka for delivery.  Brian was informed that the pizza would be delivered however the business did not sell alcohol.  Half hour later ‘Brian’ called again to check the status of his pizza and vodka and was told again that the pizzas were on their way but no vodka.  When the delivery man arrived at the address he was met by ‘Brian’ who, once handed the pizza’s, acted as if he was getting money from his pocket and then suddenly took off running with both pizza’s. 

 

West Townships

 

2/16     Location:  Jamestown Road and Williamsburg                      Plainfield

            Summary:  Kristopher L. Young, age 33, of 12550 McKanna Road in Minooka was cited for failure to yield turning left after the school bus he was driving struck a Pontiac while attempting to turn.  No damage was done to the school bus that was carrying two 10 year old males, one 9 year old male and one 6 year old male, and no injuries were reported.  Three scratches were identified on the victim’s vehicle.

 

2/17     Location:  16000 block of Farmingdale                      Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a stereo system.

 

2/19     Location:  23700 W. 119th Street        Wheatland                   Naperville Polo Club

            Summary: Owner stated person/s unknown entered a barn and removed a 12-volt auto battery charger and two 6-gallon gas cans.

 

            Location:  10154 S. Bode                   Wheatland                   DJ Auto

            Summary:  Anthony S. Warren, age 22, of 306 Heustis in Yorkville was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after he dropped his cell phone and upon retrieving it lost control, struck a mailbox, struck a snow bank, overturned his vehicle onto its roof, slid thru a parking lot and struck two parked vehicles.

 

2/21     Location:  21000 block of W. Judith Court                Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke out a side window of a vehicle and stole a Coach purse from inside.  The purse was empty.

 

            Location:  13000 block of S. Jonesport Circle            Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke out a side window of a vehicle and stole a purse from inside.  The purse contained miscellaneous papers.

 

            Location:  13000 block of S. Petersburg Court          Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown broke out a side window of a vehicle but nothing was stolen.

 

  

South Townships

 

2/17     Location:  200 block of W. Mesa Drive                     Godley

            Summary:  Between 6:30pm and 9:50pm, person/s unknown entered a driveway and poured ketchup and tuna fish inside and outside of a 2002 Chevy Cavalier.  The doors were not locked and the offender covered the entire driver’s seat in ketchup.  The vehicle was covered from front to rear in ketchup mixed with tuna fish.

 

            Location:  1200 block of Ottawa Drive                      Manhattan

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a detached garage and stole a welder, band saw, cordless drill, grinder, hose and torch and welding mask.

 

2/19     Location:  Cedar and Delaney                        Manhattan

            Summary:  Kevin M. Fanning, age 47, of 2745 Meadow Path in New Lenox was arrested for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, DUI and DUI over the legal limit after he veered off the south shoulder of Delaney Road and struck a concrete bridge head-on.  Fanning was transported to Silver Cross Hospital for non-life threatening injuries by New Lenox Fire.
