1/25 Location: 80th Avenue and Pine Hill Road Frankfort
Summary: John C. Genis, age 40, of 7915 Lakeview Terrace in Tinley Park was cited for too fast for conditions after he lost control of his vehicle on icy roads, slid sideways and struck another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle and two passengers were extricated from their vehicle and taken to Silver Cross Hospital. They were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Summary: Person/s unknown removed a wallet from a table where the victim had set it while putting on her jacket after playing Bunco.
1/30 Location: 360 W. Francis Road New Lenox
Summary: Lon M. Franks, age 33, of this address, was charged with criminal damage to property.
2/1 Location: Harlem and Lincoln Highway Frankfort
Summary: Devon A. Burge, age 59, of 6055 Elm Lane in Matteson was cited for failure to signal when required, driving while license revoked and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
HOMER GLEN
1/25 Location: 14162 S. Bell Road Tobacco Express
Summary: Ralph G. Mesa III, age 38, of 14400 Pheasant Lane in Homer Glen was arrested for retail theft after he was seen on video surveillance placing various cigars into his waistband and jacket. Cost of the cigars were $199.57.
Location: 14000 block of S. Mallard Drive
Summary: Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a car stereo, a winter coat, and $50USC. Also stolen was the spare tire.
Location: Dublin Drive and Parker Road
Summary: Eleazar Bonilla, age 36, of 3044 S. Karlov in Chicago was cited for no valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
1/26 Location: 13000 block of Valley View Drive
Summary: Person/s unknown damaged a brick mailbox in front of a residence house.
1/27 Location: 15801 S. Bell Road Palos Bank and Trust
Summary: Brian J. Ellis, age 40, of 374 Lynn Drive in Manteno was arrested for robbery after he entered the bank, approached a teller, and demanded money implying that he had a gun. The teller gave him an undisclosed amount of money from her drawer and Ellis took off. The security guard ran after Ellis and tackled him at the 12000 block of Meadowview Lane, restrained him, and called 911. Sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene and took custody of Ellis. The FBI was contacted and are taking over the investigation.
Location: 15000 block of 139th
Summary: At 12:30am a witness contacted his neighbor and reported that he saw a white, four door vehicles, back into his neighbor’s driveway. When he went to take a better look he saw the white vehicle begin moving forward and then the neighbors work van start up and exit the driveway also. Both vehicles headed south on Lemont Road. The witness then woke up his neighbor and they contacted Sheriff’s deputies to report the stolen vehicle.
1/28 Location: 13000 block of Long Run Drive
Summary: Person/s unknown entered a box style work truck and stole over $2,400 worth of tools.
1/29 Location: 14000 block of Saddlebrook Lane
Summary: Person/s unknown removed the rear plate of a Chevy Trailblazer and replaced the plate with an IL B-Truck plate. The victim was not sure exactly when this had occurred because she does not check her plate on a regular basis. Sheriff’s deputies reported the plate as missing and were later contacted by Chicago Police who stated that they were able to locate the rear plate on a stolen vehicle that was in a Chicago impound lot.

Summary: Essa Zegar, age 27, of this address, was arrested for domestic battery.
1/30 Location: 13000 block of W. Oakwood Ct.
Summary: Andrzej Hareza, age 33, of 14644 S. Stonegate in Homer Glen was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after he struck a plastic mailbox on one property, proceeded to knock down a tree on another property, and then struck a brick mailbox, at which time the vehicle could not drive any further. Hareza was not injured.

Summary: Margaret M. Vesely, age 21, of 19 Kingery Quarter in Willowbrook was arrested for disobeying a traffic control device, speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and DUI.
1/31 Location: 13000 block of W. 167th
Summary: Victim was notified by PayPal that there was a problem with his account. Victim did not have a PayPal account. Person/s unknown charged $949 under his name. Later in the day the victim was notified by Discover Card of a suspicious order from Plimus Company for $403. Victim did not make the charge on his Discover Card.

1/25 Location: Gougar and Manhattan Road Manhattan
Summary: Domingo Zarate, age 44, of 420 Sherman in Joliet was cited for driving while license suspended.
1/27 Location: Rt. 102 and Angle Road Wesley
Summary: Demetric D. Hunter, age 24, of 14231 Marshfield in Dixmoor, IL was cited for speeding and driving on a suspended license.
1/30 Location: Peotone and Smith Wilmington
Summary: Delano E. Lacy, age 47, of 121 Laurel Street in Wilmington was arrested for illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, DUI, and DUI over the legal limit.
1/31 Location: 32020 S. Crawford Avenue Wilmington
Summary: Zachary A. Pecho, age 19, of this address, was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm after he was holding his 30/30 lever action rifle, opened the rifle to ensure it was clear and by doing so cocked the hammer. When Pecho attempted to de-cock the weapon, the weapon fired and accidentally struck his 17 year old girlfriend in the lower left leg. The victim was transported to Riverside Medical Center by Pecho’s parents and was taken into surgery. Pecho was in possession of a valid FOID.

1/26 Location: 25000 block of W. Rt. 30 Wheatland
Summary: Person/s unknown stole a wallet from the center console of an unlocked truck.
1/28 Location: 12040 S. Aero Drive Plainfield J Smith Trucking
Summary: Person/s unknown kicked in the door of the office building. It was unknown at time of report if anything was missing.
1/30 Location: 23856 W. Andrew Road Wheatland All Service Limousine
Summary: Upon arriving to the office an employee observed that person/s unknown had broken in and stole three computer monitors, a Thinkpad laptop and a computer hard drive.
Location: 2500 block of Von Esch Plainfield
Summary: Victim observed charges on his debit card that he did not make. A $300 charge was made to a medical supply company, $40 to Godaddy.com and two other $15 unknown charges.
1/31 Location: 13941 S. Oregon Drive Plainfield
Summary: Shamika L. Garner, age 30, and Chauncey L. Garner, age 31, both of this address, were arrested for domestic battery.
EAST TOWNSHIPS
1/26 Location: 1000 block of Richton Road Crete
Summary: Person/s unknown kicked in the back door of a residence and stole a 26” TV, a 42” TV, a 32” TV, a Wii gaming system, and an undisclosed amount of USC.
1/27 Location: 449 W. Corning Road Bernard Welding Washington
Summary: Joseph D. Duckett, age 50, of 14225 Lincoln in Dixmoor and Eric Caffrey, age 47, of 15634 Ashland Avenue in Harvey were arrested for theft over $300 after they were seen on video surveillance stealing over $4000 worth of copper scrap. Both offenders worked for a janitorial service and allegedly were carrying in plastic totes, loading them up, and placing them into their vehicle to be taken to the scrap yard in exchange for cash.

Summary: Person/s unknown entered an unlocked Hummer and Ford, searched thru the vehicles but stole nothing.
Location: 8900 block of W. Offner Road Green Garden
Summary: Person/s unknown entered a yard with a vehicle and damaged a water well cap.
1/28 Location: 23000 block of 104th Avenue Green Garden
Summary: A 71 year old female victim stated that at around Noon she received an expected delivery. Shortly after the delivery truck left she heard a knock at her back door. A male Hispanic, 5’5”, 155lbs, wearing a black jacket, dark pants, boots, and a black stocking cap stated that he was working with a construction company in the area and needed to check the water in her house. The victim allowed the unknown male into her home and was asked to accompany him to the basement. As the man ran the washing machine, the victim heard footsteps upstairs. The man denied hearing anything but walked to the other side of the basement, got on his cell phone and began speaking Spanish. After the man left the victim observed her bedroom and office had been ransacked. It was unknown at time of report what was missing, awaiting crime scene investigators to respond. The victim also advised that her phone lines were not working and that she had seen a white pickup truck previous to the offender being at her back door. Under investigation.
Location: 1700 block of E. Exchange Crete
Summary: At 9:30am 40 year old female victim stated she heard the door bell ring several times. At the time she was in another part of her residence and was unable to see who was at the door. A short time later she observed shoe imprints in the snow on the back deck. At 10:50am the door bell rang again and she observed a male Hispanic, late 20’s, 5’10”, 165lbs, wearing a parka-type coat with fur on the hood, leaving the front porch and walking to the side of her residence. She also observed a silver, older model Chevy Trailblazer in her driveway. The victim grabbed her phone, went into the attached garage, locked herself in, and called her husband. A few minutes later the service door from inside the residence was opened and she made eye contact with the male subject. The husband called 911 and was home minutes later. A basement window had been broken out and the front door was standing open where the offender had fled the area in his vehicle.
Location: 400 block of E. Exchange Crete
Summary: At 10:37am, 42 year old female victim had returned home and found her front door had been kicked in with an audible alarm going off. The victim was waiting outside in her vehicle when deputies arrived and cleared the home. Victim stated that while away she had received a call from her security company stating that there was entry into her home. Nothing was missing and victim believes the offender fled the scene when the alarm went off.
NOTE: A Reverse 911 notification was performed Monday, 2/1, informing residents about the current burglaries that have occurred in these and nearby townships.
1/29 Location: West River Road and Rt. 53 Wilmington
Summary: Dionna N. Spicuzza, age 20, of 740 Koala Court in Wilmington was cited for failure to signal and driving while license suspended.
1/30 Location: 24001 W. Lorenzo Road River Restaurant Wilmington
Summary: Manager stated that at 1:57am a known customer entered the restaurant, started an argument with an unknown customer and was then asked to leave. The customer then started to argue with the manager and upon leaving caused damage with his hands to the outdoor patio heater hood.
LOCKPORT
1/25 Location: 15537 S. Weber Road Northwest Cedar Products
Summary: Person/s unknown cut a link from a chain security gate and entered into the fenced area. The offender/s rummaged through a truck and a trailer and stole a welder and miscellaneous power tools and hand tools from the trailer. It was unknown at time of report what, if anything was stolen from the truck. Two pallets of nails were also missing from the property.
1/27 Location: 525 Barry Avenue Lockport Park District building
Summary: Deputies responded to the Fairmont Community Center for an activated alarm. They observed a window that was broken out and spoke to the Director of Park Services who stated that nothing appeared to be missing from the building.
1/28 Location: Briggs and Rosalind
Summary: Jose G. Rodriguez, age 33, of 723 Garnsey in Joliet was charged with failure to yield from a private drive, no valid license, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and failure to give aid/information after an accident. A witness stated that she observed Rodriguez exit his vehicle after he struck a Jeep Cherokee, get into a blue pickup, and leave the scene. The driver of the Jeep was transported to Silver Cross for non-life threatening injuries. Rodriguez was tracked to his home where he was taken into custody.
Location: 300 block of Oak
Summary: Artez Norwood, age 38, of 1413 Fairview in Joliet was arrested for burglary and possession of burglary tools after Sheriff’s deputies observed him dragging a plastic garbage type bag and stopped him for questioning. (10:14am) Norwood stated that he had found the bag however deputies were able to backtrack Norwood’s footsteps in the snow that led them to a basement opening of a building where they observed copper wire and tubing had been removed. The bag consisted of copper wire, tubing, and bolt cutters.
1/29 Location: Green Garden and Princeton
Summary: Deputies responded to Silver Cross Hospital in reference to a person vs. vehicle report. The victim, a 45 year old male Lockport resident, stated that at 9:15am he was walking east on Princeton along the shoulder of the road when he observed a Chevy Tahoe traveling towards him and suddenly sped up and swerved at him striking him in his left shoulder. The impact broke off the driver’s side mirror. The victim went to a relative’s house where they transported him to the hospital. Victim believes this may have been in retaliation of an incident that had occurred earlier in the month.
JOLIET
1/25 Location: 300 block of Hartford Place
Summary: Person/s unknown entered a residence and stole several bottles of prescription medications. Offenders broke in thru a kitchen window.
Location: 23000 block of Bluff Road
Summary: Employee of Jake’s Electric stated person/s unknown cut off the padlock of a trailer and stole 13,500 feet of copper wire, three drills ($1100) and a gas generator.
1/26 Location: 3500 block of Juniper Avenue
Summary: Person/s unknown used a victims debit card number and made transactions for over $1,000. The charges appear to have originated from Istanbul, Turkey.
Location: 100 block of Independence Avenue
Summary: Person/s unknown entered a residence thru a window and stole a 38 caliber Ruger ($250), a Winchester 30-30 rifle ($500), 25 boxes of assorted ammunition ($200), 48” TV ($2000), miscellaneous jewelry, miscellaneous coins, a camcorder, and USC.

Summary: Antonio Ortiz, age 35, of 813 Longwood Drive in Joliet was cited for disobeying a stop sign and no proof of insurance.
1/27 Location: 600 Patterson Road
Summary: Owner of a rental property stated that he had vacated the residence for non-payment of rent earlier in the month. On 1/26 the owner inspected the residence and observed missing: a refrigerator, a toolbox containing tools, a saw horse, and a bench grinder.
Location: 1500 block of Timberline Drive
Summary: Joseph M. Lucas, age 28, of 1516 Timberline Drive in Joliet was arrested for resisting a peace officer after deputies were serving a warrant out of Livingston County and Lucas was found hiding in the attic of his home.

Summary: Ainoa Iway, female, age 20, of 219 Parks Avenue in Joliet was arrested for improper turn at intersection, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, DUI and DUI over the legal limit.

Summary: Robert N. Hammann II, age 19, of 4516 Skylark Lane in Plainfield was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug equipment and failure to signal when required.

Summary: Dennis J. Linnert, age 50, of 1872 Rosalind in Joliet was charged with criminal damage to property after he was asked to leave the bar for bringing in his own beer, got angry, and punched a window causing it to break.

Summary: Richard W. Dorr, age 66, of 13516 West Catawba in Homer Glen was charged with resisting/obstructing a peace officer.
