FRANKFORT AND NEW LENOX

 

1/5       Location:  191st and Hickory Creek                Mokena

            Summary:  Angelique M. Laninga, age 29, of 3440 Phillips Avenue in Steger was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while license suspended.

 

1/6       Location:  600 block of Charlotte                   New Lenox

            Summary:  About 3pm victim heard a loud noise coming from the front living room of his home.  Upon inspection he discovered that person/s unknown had shot a pellet at his window causing a hole.

 

            Location:  22900 S. Big Run Drive                Frankfort                     Gateway Community Homes

            Summary:  Manager stated person/s unknown entered the clubhouse and removed a 19” TV from the exercise room and a CD player from the basement.  No forced entry was observed. 

 

1/9       Location:  191st and 88th                     Mokena

            Summary:  Gregorio H. Guitierez, age 64, of 3021 W. 145th Place in Posen was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while license suspended and no rear plate light.

 

1/10     Location:  Center and Steger              Frankfort

            Summary:  Scott d. Andersen, age 35, of 5507 W. Mill Street in Monee was arrested for DUI and driving while license suspended.

 

JOLIET

 

1/4       Location:  1018 Elgin Avenue

            Summary:  Marisa Alcantar, age 20, of this address, was arrested for domestic battery.

 

            Location:  400 block of Leach

            Summary:  Between 12/23 and 1/4 person/s unknown entered a garage and stole a 20” bicycle.

 

            Location:  301 Fairbanks                    United Methodist Church

            Summary:  Treasurer stated person/s unknown removed three checks from the checkbook.  Two of the checks were cashed – one for $500 and the other for $490.

 

1/5       Location:  Arsenal and Baseline

            Summary:  Willie E. Meeks, age 60, of 5506 W. Gladys in Chicago was cited for failure to wear seatbelt, driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

1/6       Location:  Cass and Briggs

            Summary:  Raul Castillo, age 35, of 14439 Jefferson Avenue in Orland Park was cited for speeding and driving while license suspended.

 

1/7       Location:  Essington and Jefferson

            Summary:  Roderick F. Baker, IV, age 25, of 13265 Lakepoint Drive in Plainfield was arrested for DUI, DUI over the legal limit, failure to yield private road and no valid safety test sticker.

 

 

1/8       Location:  Briggs and Washington

            Summary:  Ronald J. Martinez, age 53, of 145 Lee Street in Manhattan was arrested for DUI, improper turn at intersection and improper lighting/one headlight.

 

            Location:  100 block of SE Circle Drive

            Summary:  Upon returning home victim observed a tempered glass back door broken out.  Person/s unknown had entered his home and stole a computer, 12 Briggs & Stratton collectible trucks ($1200), a cashbox containing USC and a Chicago Cubs signed baseball cap.

 

            Location:  300 block of Briggs

            Summary:  Joseph E. Borello, age 52, of 33737 W. River Road in Wilmington was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after he struck the rear end of a vehicle that was turning into a private driveway. 

 

1/9       Location:  1300 block of Sterling

            Summary:  Miguel A. Salas-Reyes, age 35, of 815 Longwood in Joliet was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to provide information for striking a vehicle, too fast for conditions, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, DUI and DUI over the legal limit.  At 3:57 am deputies observed a 2004 Ford F-150 with extensive front and rear end damage.  The rear of the vehicle had come to rest against a building.  Also observed was a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix with extensive front and rear end damage that had apparently been struck by the truck.  The driver of the truck, Salas-Reyes, stated to deputies that his truck had been stolen from an unknown bar parking lot and he did not cause the crash.  When questioned further, Salas-Reyes stated that when he came out of his brothers’ house, at an unknown location, he realized his truck had been stolen.  He was unable to explain to deputies how he then located his vehicle. 

 

            Location:  Black and Infantry

            Summary:  John L. Valdez, age 19, of 29W255 Hartman Drive in Naperville was arrested for DUI, DUI over the legal limit, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage.

 

HOMER GLEN

 

1/4       Location:  12007 W. 159                    Speedway Gas Station

            Summary:  A 20 year old male victim stated that on 12/18, 8:30pm, he was approached by a male subject in the parking lot of Speedway.  The suspect asked the victim if he wanted to make some money, which the victim stated ‘yes’.  The suspect told the victim that he needed money to bail out a friend, who had just returned from Iraq, who was arrested for DUI.  The suspect went on to explain that he needed cash so he would write the victim two checks:  one for $600 and another for $450 if the victim would go to his ATM and trade him $620 cash for the two checks.  The victim agreed to the deal and when he attempted to cash the checks they bounced.  Since the incident the victim allegedly has identified the suspect from a newspaper article and photo, dealing with the same type of scam. The suspect is currently being held at the Will County Adult Detention Facility on FTA warrants out of Matteson.  Detectives are investigating. 

 

            Location:  15836 Annico Drive                      Straightline Landscaping

            Summary:  Owner stated he and his employees had parked their three snow plow trucks in the parking lot over night.  Upon their return they found the trucks to be missing their catalytic converters. 

 

            Location:  14000 block of Shetland Drive

            Summary:  person/s unknown broke out the driver’s side front door window, rear door window, the rear window and chipped the front windshield of a vehicle.

 

1/6       Location:  12032 W. Lake View Drive                     

            Summary:  Stephen a. Stock, age 18, of this address, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of cannabis under 30 grams.

 

1/7       Location:  14200 S. Bell Road                       Dominicks

            Summary:  At 7:30pm, the store manager witnessed two unidentified male subjects inside the store removing two bottles of Skyy vodka ($22 each).  As the offenders left the store the manager approached them and a brief struggle ensued.  The offenders dropped the bottles, their sweatshirts, and keys to a Nissan that was parked in the parking lot, and ran off.  Deputies attempted to make contact with the registered owner of the Nissan and met with negative results.  Was reported later on in the evening someone returned to the parking lot and retrieved the Nissan.  Deputies are investigating.

 

            Location:  14200 S. Bell Road                       Dominicks

            Summary:  At 3pm, a store security guard was watching security cameras when he observed a 14 year old female and an 18 year old male enter the store, grab a cart, and begin shopping.  The guard then saw the female separate herself and enter the liquor department.  He observed her take three bottles of alcohol, meet back with the male, and place the bottles into the cart.  The couple continued shopping and when the cart became visible to the guard again, the bottles were missing.  The guard was able to stop the couple and the 14 year old was charged with retail theft.  The male was released without charge.

 

1/8       Location:  14200 S. Bell Road                       Dominicks

            Summary:  At 9:38pm a store security guard was watching security camera when he observed a 15 year old male enter the store and go into the liquor department.  The subject then looked around for a moment, removed a bottle of Skyy vodka ($38) from the shelf, and place it inside his jacket.  The guard was able to stop the offender and escorted him back into the security room.  He was arrested for retail theft.

 

1/9       Location:  16000 block of McDonald Drive

            Summary:  Victim stated that he parked his Dodge Dakota in his driveway unlocked with the keys inside during the overnight hours.  When he awoke he discovered his truck was missing.

 

            Location:  159th and Parker

            Summary:  Jeffrey G. Paholke, age 45, of 11031 S. Harding in Chicago was cited for driving while license revoked, operating a vehicle with expired registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

 

SOUTH TOWNSHIPS

 

1/4       Location:  Rt. 53 and Marle                Wilmington

            Summary:  Tina M. Saxton, age 36, of 1913 Lakewood Drive in Wilmington was cited for driving while license revoked.

 

1/5       Location:  24000 block of W. Stripmine Road                       Wilmington

            Summary:  A 74 year old man contacted sheriff’s deputies at 3pm informing them that 2 unknown Hispanic males approached his back door and identified themselves as employees of Comcast Cable.  They informed him that due to the current weather conditions the trees near the front of his property needed to be trimmed to avoid hitting the cable lines.  The victim allowed the two men inside his home and when one of the men became persistent about accompanying him into the front of the house the man became suspicious, asked for identification and when they refused the victim ordered them out of the house.  At this point a third Hispanic appeared from the back bedroom area and all three offenders left and entered a maroon Chevy pickup which had been parked near the end of the driveway.  Stolen were 3 coin collection binders ($790), a stamp collection binder ($300) and a .38 special handgun ($500). 

 

 

 

1/7       Location:  24001 W. Lorenzo             Wilmington                 Knights Inn Motel

            Summary:  An 18 year old female victim stated that while leaving a party at 4am, she went outside to warm up her vehicle and noticed the passenger window had been broken out.  She entered back into the motel room and when she returned outside she observed a known male inside her vehicle going thru her purse.  A confrontation ensued and the victim left the party and drove home.  $143 had been stolen from her purse.

 

1/10     Location:  Coal City Road and I55                Braidwood

            Summary:  Juan F. Tapia, age 28, of 5704 s. Artesian Avenue in Chicago was cited for unlawful display of license plate, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, driving while license suspended.

 

EAST TOWNSHIPS

 

1/7       Location:  23000 block of Schultz                  Crete

            Summary:  At 1:30pm, a 66 year old female victim was in her home napping when she was awaken by a loud banging noise coming from another bedroom.  Upon investigating the victim drew the window blind and saw an unknown male standing outside the window trying to pry it open.  The offender fled the scene.

 

            Location:  2000 block of W. Exchange                      Crete

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered a residence thru a basement window and stole a 48” TV, play station gaming system, container with loose change, and miscellaneous jewelry.

 

            Location:  9000 block of Pauling                    Green Garden

            Summary:  Victim received information from her bank stating that her debit card had unusual activity charged on it.  The offender used her card in Blue Island for $259.

 

1/9       Location:  25000 block of S. Nancy               Crete

            Summary:  Person/s unknown entered an unattached garage and stole a 2007 Yamaha 700 ATV.

 

1/10     Location:  Governors Highway and University Parkway                   University park

            Summary:  Monique L. Julius, age 19, of 7334 Yorktown Road in Frankfort was cited for driving while license suspended.

 

WEST TOWNSHIPS

 

1/5       Location:  Leness Lane and Plainfield Road

            Summary:  Christopher R. Totte, age 36, of 2412 Satellite in Joliet was arrested for possession of cannabis under 30 grams, possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug equipment.

 

1/6       Location:  25000 block of Mary Lane                        Plainfield

            Summary:  Person/s unknown slashed all four tires of a vehicle that was parked in the owner’s driveway.

 

1/8       Location:  22000 block of Pasadena Drive                 Plainfield

            Summary:  Kimberly D. Mudry, age 38, of 22061 Pasadena Drive in Plainfield was cited for failure to yield from a private drive and expired driver’s license.

 

1/10     Location:  2357 Plainfield Road                     Gippers Bar & Grill                 Plainfield

            Summary:  person/s unknown stole a wallet from a patron’s purse.  The wallet contained $80.

 

            Location:  24820 Caton Farm Road               John Paul Ivec Attorney at Law         Plainfield

            Summary:  person/s unknown caused damage to the front window of the office building using some type of projectile.

 

1/11     Location:  111th and Heggs Road                   Wheatland

            Summary:  Miguel a. Martinez, age 50, of 1841 Arlene Drive in Aurora was charged with DUI.

 

LOCKPORT

 

1/4       Location:  Briggs and Oak

            Summary:  Anthony M. Dominic, age 40, of 2405 Ingalls in Crest Hill was cited for driving while license suspended.

 

            Location:  Green Garden Place and Oak

            Summary:  Michael T. Spinale, age 25, of 219 Wood in Wilmington and Jennifer L. Murdaugh, age 30, of 304 Robson Drive in Lockport were arrested for possession of a controlled substance.  Spinale was also cited for no front registration plate.

 

1/6       Location:  329 W. Oak Avenue

            Summary:  William L. Hinton, age 48, of this address was arrested for domestic battery.

 

1/7       Location:  18100 W. Oak Avenue                  Trinity Services

            Summary:  Person/s unknown stole a cell phone from the lunchroom.

 

1/8       Location:  300 block of W. Oak Avenue

            Summary:  A 21 year old male victim was transported to Silver Cross Hospital by family members after he was shot in the leg.  About 10pm a small, dark colored vehicle traveling east on Oak approached a residence and began shooting at three individuals who were outside. 

 

1/9       Location:  Oak and State

            Summary:  Clementa M. Hernandez, age 43, male, of 406 W. Oak Avenue in Lockport was arrested for speeding, improper turn, driving while license revoked, DUI and DUI over the legal limit.

 

1/10     Location:  412 W. Bruce Road

            Summary:  Chadwick D. Bledsoe, age 37, of this address, was arrested for aggravated battery after he allegedly stabbed a 27 year old man in the left arm during an altercation that involved a domestic situation.  Bledsoe also had two FTA warrants.
