12/28 Location: 25948 S. Dixie Highway Crete Country Mart Food & Liquor
Summary: About 8:51pm an unknown male white subject, light complexion, 5’5”, `165lbs. with dark hair, wearing a bandana over his face, entered the liquor store, produced a large frame semi automatic handgun and demanded the owner to turn over the cash in the register. The owner gave the offender about $250 and the offender fled on foot. The owner was not injured. Under investigation.
12/29 Location: Exchange and Klemme Crete
Summary: Mark D. Thiel, age 17, of 24422 S. Timberline Trail in Crete was cited for failure to yield turning left.
12/30 Location: Red Oak Lane and University Park University Park
Summary: Elvis L. Hinton, age 35, of 1908 Ashland in Chicago Heights was cited for expired registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended.

Summary: Eric L. Farris, age 37, of 1712 S. Dixie Highway in Crete was arrested for DUI.

Summary: Person/s unknown broke out a front window of a residence, entered and stole an Xbox gaming system.

Summary: Daniel J. Tucker, age 44, of 914 W. 195th St. in Chicago Heights, was cited for driving while license suspended.

Summary: The female driver of a black GMC SUV pumped $62 worth of gas and drove off without paying.

Summary: Person/s unknown broke into a residence and stole a paintball gun ($325), a change jar with $30 in it, a flat screen TV ($400), a stereo ($700) and an amplifier ($100).

Summary: Person/s unknown cut the padlock off the entry gate, entered the property, broke into a 14x8 foot container and stole six 16” tires. ($1200)

Summary: Wesley D. Sykes, Jr., age 19, of 112 Rev. Walton Drive in Lockport was arrested for possession of cannabis under 30 grams, no valid driver’s license and reckless driving, resisting arrest and obstructing a police officer.

Summary: Person/s unknown broke out the rear window of a van with a cinder block.

Summary: Between 12/1 and 12/7 person/s unknown charged $991 on a victims’ credit card with their permission.

Summary: Christopher A. Jones, age 33, of 20138 E. Frankfort Square Road in Frankfort was cited for driving while license suspended and improper display of registration.

Summary: Ashley Carrig, age 23, of 10712 Mary Lane in Mokena was cited for driving while license suspended.

Summary: Jeffrey A. Holstein, age 40, of 14251 S. Kildare in Crestwood was arrested for speeding, obstructed/cracked front windshield, unlawful use/possession of a weapon and no FOID card.

Summary: Brian James Hickey, age 45, of 22046 Clove in Frankfort was cited for following too close, driving while license revoked and no insurance.

12/29 Location: Arsenal and I55
Summary: Raed Mal-Turk Ahmad, age 36, ogf 10528 Ridgegrove Drive in Chicago Ridge was cited for too fast for conditions and was transported to St. Joseph Hospital after he struck a vehicle while driving his Mack truck. Ahmad was westbound on Arsenal when he attempted to stop but struck a vehicle from behind. Ahmad was treated and released at the hospital.

Summary: Donald P. Reichart, age 43, of 3529 Susan Lane in Steger was arrested for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, DUI and DUI over the legal limit.
12/31 Location: Black and Essington
Summary: Alejandro Delatorre, age 24, of 9413 W. 79th Street in Hickory Hills was arrested for aggravated speeding (89mph in a 40mph zone), two counts of disobeying a traffic control device, fleeing/eluding a police officer, DUI, and DUI over the legal limit.

Summary: Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole an Ipod. The victim found a Joliet Township High School ID card inside his vehicle of a person he did not know. Deputies are investigating.

Summary: Marivel Rodriguez, age 37, of 138 Arizona in Joliet was cited for leaving the scene of a property damage accident and no valid driver’s license.

Summary: Martin Guzman, age 31, of 1403 Brown in Joliet was cited for failure to signal when turning, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and no driver’s license.

Summary: Henry Lopez, age 42, of 222 SW Circle in Joliet was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Summary: On 1/2 between 11:15am and 12:30pm, a 63 year old woman who was singing in the choir, had left her purse in an unattended pew and was the victim of a theft. Person/s unknown stole the woman’s wallet that contained $65 USC and credit cards.

Summary: Albert Dobbs, Jr., age 61, of 915 Georgia St. in Joliet was arrested for DUI, DUI over the legal limit, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving without lights.

Summary: Hector N. Santoni, age 40, of 12700 Beaver Den Trail in Homer Glen was cited for driving while registration suspended.
12/29 Location: 12108 W. 159th 7-Eleven
Summary: Manager stated person/s unknown stole 11 bundles of firewood from a pallet outside the store. ($66)
12/30 Location: 12000 block of Mackinac Road
Summary: Between 12/15 and 12/16 person/s unknown entered a residence and stole 50 8” x 11” black and white Star War photographs that were kept in a folder in a bedroom. ($200)

Summary: Rami Z. Bata, age 24, of 15826 Orlandbrook Drive in Orland Park was arrested for possession of cannabis under 30 grams and no valid driver’s license.

Summary: Person/s unknown entered an unlocked vehicle and stole an Ipod.

Summary: Jan Migal, male, age 57, of 16229 Wildwood in Homer Glen was arrested for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving too fast for conditions, DUI, DUI over the legal limit.

Summary: Roman S. Mietus, age 18, of 2546 N. Laramie in Chicago was cited for driving while license suspended and disobeying a traffic control device.

Summary: Tonya C. Bouquet, age 30, of 16267 S. 92nd Avenue in Orland Park was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended.
WEST TOWNSHIPS
12/28 Location: 14106 S. Naperville Road Plainfield Schrack Environmental
Summary: Owner stated he was notified by his bank’s fraud department who informed him that there were suspicious checks written on his business account. Six checks had been cashed for about $970 each and another seven had been stopped. Owner stated it appears that person/s unknown used one check as a template to reproduce the others. Under investigation.
12/30 Location: 400 block of Farmington Plainfield
Summary: James D. Tucker, age 53, of 2306 Verdun in Joliet was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while license suspended and damaging an unattended vehicle/property, after he lost control of his vehicle on the snowy road, struck a pickup truck that was parked in a driveway and drove away. (6:42pm) Deputies were able to recover part of a grill with the license plate attached, that had broken off of the offending vehicle and was lying in the driveway. Fifteen minutes later Joliet Police made a traffic stop on the vehicle and Tucker was charged.
12/31 Location: 14000 block of S. Lakeridge Drive Plainfield
Summary: At about 6am a 64 year old female victim was awakened by an unknown subject that forced open her bedroom door that had been locked. When the intruder saw the victim he fled down the stairs and out the front door. Nothing was missing from the house. Deputies did track footprints outside and observed a cut screen, open window, and curtain rod knocked down in the kitchen area.
1/2 Location: 10025 Clow Creek Drive Wheatland Dressler Block Concrete
Summary: Owner stated on 12/8 he became aware that 15 business checks were missing and discontinued the account. On 12/15 he received a call from a check cashing business who informed him that a $440 check was returned due to a closed account. Upon receiving a copy of the check the owner realized that his name had been forged on it. The owner alleges that he confronted an employee who eventually admitted to taking the checks and the owner fired the employee on the spot. The suspect has not been located since this incident.
1/3 Location: 21000 block of W. Taylor Rd. Plainfield
Summary: The owner of a 1999 Freightliner semi truck stated that person/s unknown stole three batteries located beneath the cab. Owner stated the offender/s would need special tools in order to remove the batteries.
