Summary: Person/s unknown entered a vacant house and removed 2 central air conditioners, 2 furnaces, 2 evaporator coils, 2 thermostats and an air cleaner.
Location: 15000 block of S. Mallard Lane
Summary: David P. Collins, age 22, of 14511 S. 136th Avenue in Lockport was arrested for criminal damage to property and burglary after he and a friend alledgely entered a home under construction and caused $1500 damage to the kitchen cabinets, damaged the stove ($1000), punched a hole in a wall ($150 repair) and cut wires to the overhead lights for the cabinets. While deputies were on scene taking report from homeowner/victim a neighbor advised deputies that at 4:15am he observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the street and took a picture of the truck and license plate. The neighbor had emailed the photo and information to residents in Mallard Lake Estates, giving them a 'heads-up' but upon seeing the deputies squad car realized an incident must have occurred and approached the deputy with the information. Deputies ran the plate/vehicle information and proceeded to Collins residence, where the vehicle was parked, and spoke with Collins who implicated himself and a friend. He was taken to Will County Sheriff's investigation division, questioned and charged. Deputies are continuing the investigation and are currently looking for the second offender.

Summary: Brian W. Sniegowski, age 38, of 1821 Nicholson in Crest Hill and Gordon N. Neitzel, age 46, of 24701 East Street in Plainfield were charged with theft over $300 after a citizen called the Sheriffs Office informing them that they observed two male/white subjects in a gray SUV take approximately 50' of aluminum cable from a Com Ed site at the southwest corner of 159th and Gougar. Two Sheriff's deputies proceeded to search for the offending vehicle and then both proceeded to Berlinsky's Scrap Yard where they found Sniegowski with the cable in the back of the suspect vehicle. The owner of the vehicle, Neitzel, had been dropped off at McDonald's on Cass Street due to the fact that he was not allowed on Berlinsky's property due to a previous incident. Deputies proceeded to McDonalds and took Neitzel into custody.

Summary: Person/s unknown removed the license plate, threw them on the ground, and then stole the 53' x 8' x 10' tall, 2006 Vintage LQ Intimidator trailer. The trailer was valued at $73,000 and contained about $3100 worth of tools.

Summary: While on patrol deputies observed a 10ft single axle enclosed trailer partially on the roadway. The trailer's owner was identified and upon contacting the owner he stated that he had no idea his trailer had been stolen from a private lot where he stored it. Nothing was missing or broken from the trailer and it was returned to the owner.

Summary: A 14 year old male from Joliet entered an engine-running, 2000 Ford Taurus at 9:40pm in the parking lot of the Greater Bible Way Church. The juvenile drove the vehicle away and about an hour later was found by Joliet Police at Jackson Street and Scott after the juvenile driver slightly collided with another vehicle. The owner of the Taurus stated that because of the frigid temperatures he went out to warm his vehicle and then went back inside.

Summary: At about 1am, 62 year old male victim received a call from his girlfriend who asked him to meet at Greenlawn and Oscar because she needed money. Victim stated shortly after he arrived an unknown male black, in his 20's, 5'8", 140lbs. approached his vehicle, opened his passenger side door and stuck a semi-automatic pistol to the right side of his head and demanded all his money. An unknown black female, with her face covered then entered the back seat and demanded the victims money. The victim gave the male offender his wallet which contained $20, his license and two credit cards. He was not injured in the robbery. Under investigation.
